A leading skills delivery organisation based in Portsmouth. Due to progression, they require a Finance Manager to join on a permanent / temporary to permanent basis, to start immediately for a salary of up to £50,000 pa.

Your new role
You will have day to day responsibility for the efficient running of the finance function, ensuring the delivery of customer-focused services appropriate to the changing needs of the company. You will work with key stakeholders to ensure that the annual and ongoing financial planning, forecasting and controls are appropriate and sufficient to meet business needs. You will produce timely management information for the company, including regular reports and ad-hoc data requests.
You will also provide advice and support to all internal and external stakeholders, including management on matters relating to finance, ensuring the prompt and accurate processing and recording of all financial transactions, including sales invoices, credit notes, payments, purchase invoices, debit notes, commissions, contra journals, etc.
You will ensure that all month-end and year-end processes are undertaken in a timely manner, including the timely completion of the bank reconciliations and all other control accounts.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience operating in a stand-alone capacity with SME finance. You will preferably be qualified, or part-qualified and have demonstrable experience in delivering end-to-end finance.

Your new role
As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy, supporting expansion in both domestic and global markets.
You will develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with growth objectives, particularly in the international trade sector. You will collaborate with the other members of the executive leadership team to set financial goals, budgets, and forecasts.
You will oversee all aspects of international trade finance, including import/export regulations, foreign exchange management, and trade compliance, as well as evaluating and mitigating financial risks associated with cross-border transactions.
You will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards, maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity in financial reporting. You will optimise cash flow management strategies to support operational needs and capital investments.
In this role you will lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team.

What you'll need to succeed
Relevant accounting qualification (ACA; ACCA; CIMA)Proven experience in a senior finance role, including international trading and preferably within the defence sector.
Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision support.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels of the organisation.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

Your new company
A fast-growing retail business in Portsmouth are looking to add to their finance team in Portsmouth with the position of Purchase Ledger Clerk.
Your new role
Your role will report into the Purchase ledger manager and will consist of the following:

• Process invoices in a timely and efficient manner
• Match purchase orders to invoices
• Prepare and authorise invoices for payment, taking into consideration divisional cash flow requirements.
• Ensure all data entry is completed within deadlines.
• Deal with queries from suppliers as and when required.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries or to obtain missing documentation.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis or other appropriate admin duties as and when required.
• Complete monthly statement reconciliations
• Preparation of new supplier accounts
• Promote and act in accordance with company values, systems, policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

• Full right-to-work in the UK, with prior experience working within a UK-based finance team.
• Previous experience working within a similar role
