A bit about what you will do...
- Take full responsibility for all accounting duties to ensure the effective and smooth running of the Club
- Develop a strong understanding of how the business operates and the underlying financial drivers
- Maintain all accounting records as per finance policy
- Monitor and mitigate risk by ensuring a robust control environment and personally carrying out checks and assessments with a view to enhance controls
- Take full ownership for the preparation of the monthly management accounts
- Prepare timely, focused, and value-adding narrative and analysis of the monthly results and present them to senior team members at the Club and in Central Finance
- Ensure the balance sheet is a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the Club. Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and are fully supported with backup and all variance explained
- Prepare VAT returns and other relevant tax submissions where necessary
- Oversee and manage the accounts receivable, accounts payable and deferred income processes to ensure debtor and creditor days are within acceptable values while optimising working capital
- Manage the future cash needs of the Club through accurate weekly cash flow forecasts
- Assist with the preparation of full-year forecasts and the annual budget
- Support preparation of year end statutory accounts and assist in the audit process
- Provide daily support to the BGC Accounts Assistant and wider finance support and training to other departments at the Club as required.
- Support change management and process improvement project to improve efficiency at the Club
More about you...
- Part or Full Qualified Accountant, ACA. ACCA, CIMA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel & Word
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics finance package is advantageous
- Experience in management accounting, ideally in the hospitality industry
- Experience reviewing and analysing data with excellent attention to detail
- Organised and methodical with strong time management and planning skills
- Strong communication skills both in writing and orally with business partnering experience
- Proactive and demonstrates initiative
- Curious with skills in problem solving and process improvement
- Take pride in their own work and is confident delivering responsibilities with minimum supervision
- A team player who is helpful, enthusiastic and able to work well with others
