Financial Institution Interns will be assigned to the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS).  Interns will work directly on teams of experienced FDIC employees to evaluate bank operations, business planning, and risk management strategies.  These teams are responsible for assessing financial institutions to determine whether they are following safe and sound banking practices, maintaining effective internal controls and procedures, managing their institutions effectively, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.  Under the direction and supervision of an Examiner or higher graded team member, the incumbent will participate in and/or independently perform the following:

Conducts review and assessments of the following:

• Consolidated Reports of Conditions and Income.
• Procedures and accounting for overdrafts, prepaid expenses, and other miscellaneous assets.
• Fixed asset accounts and assists in the assessment of the adequacy of related insurance coverage.
• Depreciation entries on both the general ledger and for income tax purposes.
• Adequacy of fidelity and other indemnity protection.

Assists in evaluating the adequacy of the insured depositor institution procedures and internal routines and controls.

Assists in the preparation of information requisite to a thorough analysis of the earnings of an institution.

Prepares drafts of schedules, exhibits, and comments for inclusion in the completed report of examination.

Participates in other phases of an examination as assigned.

Performs functions related to the insured depository institution examination work to include:

• Conducting audit test checks on income and expense accounts.
• Computing capital ratios.
• Reconciling Capital Accounts.
• Reviewing the liquidity including the analysis of fluctuations in loans, securities, deposits, and borrowings.
• Verifying securities and other investments borrowings and other liabilities, and assigned collateral, pledged assets, and safe keeping items.
• Reconciling cash.

Starting at $51,262 Per Year (CG 04)

Financial Institution Interns will be assigned to the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP).  Interns will work directly on teams with experienced FDIC employees to evaluate FIDC-insured institutions' compliance with fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations.  These teams are responsible for assessing financial institutions to determine whether they are maintaining effective controls and procedures, managing their institutions effectively, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including those relating to consumer protection, privacy, community reinvestment, and fair lending.

Under the direction and supervision of an Examiner or a higher grade team member, the incumbent will participate in and/or independently perform the following:

Assesses the adequacy and determines the strength of the Compliance Management System (senior management oversight; compliance program, including the elements of policies, monitoring, and training; and audit procedures) to ensure ongoing compliance as related to the particular regulation under review.  Conducts reviews and assessments of the following: 

• Examine initial disclosures, periodic statements, advertisements, and other information to evaluate procedures and reviews for compliance with applicable regulations.
• Examine closed-end non-real estate credit transactions for compliance with applicable regulations.
• Review the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act loan application register for accuracy and assesses the bank's overall reporting procedures.
• Review adverse action notices for compliance, and to gain a cursory exposure to applicable lending-related regulations.
• Examine a sample of residential, consumer, commercial and/or agricultural files to determine compliance with consumer laws and regulations.

Reviews applicable regulations and examination manual to become informed about the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Participates in discussing the overall examination process including evaluating the bank's Compliance Management System (senior management oversight; compliance program, including the elements of policies, monitoring, and training; and audit procedures).  Asks questions to gain clarification and understanding of examination policies and procedures.

• Observes the interactions between the FDIC and Bank personnel.
• Responds to questions from other examiners regarding his/her section of the Report of Examination.
• Reviews the CRA of an institution and participates in discussion for assigning its rating.
• Prepares a summary of each performance factor describing why rating was assigned.
• With the assistance of an experience examiner, participates in meetings as appropriate.
• After the meeting, asks questions and discusses exam findings with the examiner-in-charge or higher graded team member.

We are looking for International Recruitment Support Officer to assist in the efficient running of the excitingly busy International Recruitment office for the Trust on a day to day basis. The successful candidate will provide and be responsible for a full recruitment service to existing and potential new staff wishing to be employed by Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will be supported by the International Recruitment team to ensure you are well equipped to complete your role. You will work closely with Divisional Managers to understand the needs and pressures of their services, and support with their recruitment strategies. 1. Liaise with other Departments as required, e.g. Digital Technology Services, Electronic Staff Records (ESR) team, Human Resources and other recruitment colleagues

3. To maintain a manual and electronic filing system for all inputted forms, which complies with national guidance on RA data storage and the confidentiality

4. To ensure that registration forms and copies of personal identity documents are stored securely

5. Comply with standard operating procedures to revoke and cancel user access, ensuring that the procedures are adhered to.

· Responsible for receipt of documents electronically, inputting onto TRAC, Staff Record (ESR), NHS Jobs and relevant external publications via advertising agency. Set up recruitment file. • Ensure new starter contracts are checked by Pastoral Manager before issuing to new starters.


• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and departments including recruitment agencies regarding paperwork and any discrepancies with Digital Technology Services (DTS) Support Services, Electronic Staff Records (ESR) team, Human Resources


• Carry out relevant Employer Checking Services (ECS) verification of right to work and complete checks for EU settled/pre-settled status to verify right to work status as required


• Raise purchase orders when directed by the IR lead


• Ensure actions are completed with the specific time period so that there are no delays to visa application and if applicable enter sponsor notes on COS forms.


• Oversee the compliance of packs that are provided via agencies and report any gaps or errors within the packs in line with NHS six standards and specific international recruitment governance.


• Escalation of any admin concerns to IR lead where there is no resolution to admin issue


• Liaise with agency relating to new cohort arrivals, apply for ECS checks/save photographs of vignettes on all arrivals and share with division/recruitment
• Oversee the compliance of packs that are provided via agencies and report any gaps or errors within the packs in line with NHS six standards and specific international governance.


• Escalation of any admin concerns to Pastoral Manager where there is no resolution to admin issue.


• Monitor entry timeline to identify possible breaches of 28 day rule.


• Attend weekly briefings with agency and periodic meetings with BSOL lead.


• Attend meet and greet for new arrivals at Moseley Hall Hospital.


• Liaising with division to facilitate appropriate retention of right to work documents updating TRAC, ESR and HR as necessary.


• Liaise with recruitment colleagues regarding blockages within recruitment processes or issues identified.


• Deal with all international recruitment queries appropriately and responsively according to the nature of the enquiry.


• Attend meetings to take minutes and distribute minutes within set timeframe to attendees.
