The Lancashire and South Cumbria SPCMHT provides compassionate and expert care to women and birthing people, their families and babies during the perinatal period. We are a multidisciplinary service and work closely with partner agencies, including Maternity, Health Visiting and Adult
Mental Health Services.
We continue to expand our psychological workforce to offer greater access to parent-infant therapies, and have a really exciting opportunity for a Trainee Parent Infant Relationship Therapist to join us.
You will undertake training in Mentalisation Based Therapy and an Infant Observation, and this will
be fully funded and supervised. Whilst training, you will hold a caseload, offering parent-infant therapeutic interventions, supported by our Lead Parent Infant Psychotherapist, our Consultant Clinical Psychologist, therapy colleagues and the wider MDT.
Upon completion of training and evidence of competencies, you will take up a Band 7 post within the team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a experienced clinician who wishes to specialise in parent-infant therapeutic work in a perinatal setting. This is a development post, where you will undertake relevant additional training and work towards competencies required to practice as a Band 7 PI Relationship Therapist.
Upon successful completion of training/evidence of competencies, you will
move to Band 7.
The post-holder will be able to demonstrate that they have a commitment to perinatal and parent/infant mental health and relevant experience working clinically with parents and babies.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
