1. To carry and prioritise own patient caseload and other ongoing tasks, allocating appropriate work to technical instructors and students.

The successful candidate will have significant post registration experience in haematology and coagulation, as well as a completed IBMS specialist portfolio and an MSc (or equivalent) in a related subject .

Reporting to the Haematology Laboratory Manager, you will be working with the other senior staff in Haematology to ensure the smooth running and high-quality output of the service. The post holder will have specific lead responsibility for coagulation and departmental audit.
• Part of the senior team responsible for the day-to-day running of the laboratory
• Training of BMS and MLA staff in accordance with departmental SOPs
• Write and update SOPs relevant to your section
• Verification, testing and training for new equipment
• Ensuring ongoing staff competency assessment and CPD
• Ensuring timely and accurate processing of patient samples
• Maintaining and controlling analysers, including trouble shooting, reporting faults and liaising with engineers
• Taking a lead on departmental audits including scheduling and completion

A significant equipment refresh is imminent, and the post holder will be required to assist with verification, updating documentation and training staff in the use of the new equipment.

This is a temp to permanent opportunity for the right individual, with an initial 6 month contract. This role will suit an experienced Finance Analyst who looks to broaden experience and career in a progressive team and supportive organisation.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a high performing team and also autonomously manage own workload
• Strong financial modelling skills (advanced MS Excel skills)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fluid environment and manage competing priorities
• Experience developing long term plans and business cases
• Experience in the education industry or online learning is a plus
• Undergraduate degree (ideally Finance/Accounting/Commerce) and either part or fully qualified CA or CPA
• 3- 5 years experience in Finance (preferably in Financial Planning/Financial Analysis/Commercial finance business partnering role) or first mover from Corporate Finance/Transaction services department of professional services firms

About the role

The Senior Business Consultant (Finance) is a senior consulting role in a team of Finance Consultants to deliver outstanding customer experiences whilst achieving PS revenue targets.

 This role will work closely with other stakeholders, project managers and customer to understand their requirements in the provision of Local Government solutions and the delivery of Services. 

Requirements:

• Provide business consulting and technical services including product configuration, SQL scripting
• Implementation and delivery of training to LG Customers in the Authority LG Enterprise Finance modules such as AP, AR, Purchasing, General Ledger, Bank Requisitions
• Upskilling of Consultants based on product road map & sales pipeline
• Contribution to process documentation and collateral (training material, Business Process Manuals)
• Work closely with Professional Services Project Managers and collaboratively with Business Consultants to deliver excellent customer outcomes

 

About You:

• Experience with Local Government Authority Enterprise Software Finance Modules will be preferred
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to lead customer Workshops and deliver Training
• Solid background in Consulting or Services role
• Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills

• A Senior Healthcare Science Assistant (HCSA) is part of a clinical support team whose purpose is to provide timely and accurate high quality scientific information that will assist service users from the hospital and community, in the establishment of a clinical diagnosis and monitoring of patient treatment.
• The Senior HCSA will use extended technical skills to carry out a variety of laboratory duties including reception and data entry of requests received and some routine pathological tests under the direct or indirect supervision and guidance of a Biomedical Scientist.
• To assist in the preparation of specimens for analysis, including the separation of blood, serum and plasma, and the cataloguing and storage of specimens.
• Entering requests into the laboratory computer system.
• To carry out, under direct or indirect supervision, some laboratory diagnostic tests and the operation of laboratory equipment. This may be in the laboratory or in Point of Care Testing environments such as wards an clinics where supervision and advice may be available by telephone or electronic means.
• To order blood products from the National Blood Authority and to transfer blood stocks as appropriate under the supervision of a senior member staff.
• To label and issue patient intended blood/blood products.
• To assist in the department Quality Assurance programmes
• To work in compliance with local health and safety rules to ensure a safe working environment for you, colleagues and visitors. To adhere to department and Trust Health and Safety policies (including COSHH, Risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures) and to report any non-compliances to a senior member of staff.
• Answering telephone enquiries and retrieving results in accordance with the standard operational procedure.
