The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to join the existing procurement team; we are looking to recruit a pro-active, self-motivated and ambitious individual to join our team.

You will act as a lead expert in all aspects of procurement and supply, providing professional advice to internal and external customers to the Trust. You will play a key role in the effective delivery of a portfolio of projects across a wide range of categories both clinical and non-clinical, including Find a Tender requirements and following best practice tools and techniques to achieve contract compliance, cost reductions and savings whilst ensuring continuous improvement in quality.

You should be CIPS qualifiedor working towards the qualification, will have at least 3 years procurement experience, have a good understanding of current procurement guidance and legislation (including Public Procurement Regulations).

A positive, proactive and committed approach is essential, together with the ability to analyse, innovate, motivate and manage a busy and changing workload against tight deadlines.

You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deliver high quality documentation.It is expected that you will have effective team leadership skills and will be a natural team player as the role will may require some supervision of operational procurement staff.

You must have strong IT skills including MS Office and e-Procurement systemsparticularly as we look to continually optimise e-procurement systems across the Trust.

As an organisation, NWAS is aiming to migrate the majority of records to the Office 365 environment over the next three years. HIPs are based within GP surgeries across the Borough and work alongside primary care colleagues.



This post will be expected to support and provide a comprehensive reporting function, developing support systems to enhance service efficiencies and support performance management. The role

will facilitate a robust evaluation function for the service, subsequently monitoring the outcomes and produce analytical reports as required.

An essential part of this remit is to work strategically across the local health & social care economy, collaborating and negotiating with public health, primary care and social care. To manage and co-ordinate the ongoing work and service development of the operational area using strategic, business and operational skills to ensure the service meets required performance targets, in line with national requirements, local strategies and objectives.

This will require the Operational Manager to provide business and managerial support to the Clinical Teams in order that the activity, quality, safety and financial objectives are successfully delivered. In particular the Operational Manager will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive treatment within contractually agreed waiting time maxima for the whole service.

The Operational Manager will need to develop good working relationships with other Divisions and branches within the same Division. Ensure that a locality orientation is blended with a pan-Trust focus where required, and that there is constructive, collaborative working with colleagues within the trust at all times and external Trusts and agencies as required.

To develop and sustain links with key primary, specialist, secondary and tertiary care colleagues, to facilitate integrated care pathways and congenial working arrangements.
