What You'll Do:
- Perform business and commercial reviews, asset/project valuation, and investment analysis to support the development of strategic plans and investment proposals from investee companies
- Build, run and review the Financial Model. Prepare and review management presentations to propose project investment / acquisitions of assets / businesses regionally and formation of joint ventures to Investment Committee
- Play an active role in evaluating investment opportunities and executing transactions, including deal strategy, commercial viability, structuring, due diligence, project management, review of documentation, completion and integration arrangements
- Work independently in supporting the MD and business development teams in competitive bid processes, bilateral transactions and organic development projects
- Liaise actively with internal teams (business development, finance, treasury, legal), professional advisers and deal counterparties to progress deals to completion
- Ensure that asset companies follow the corporate’s internal approval process and comply with established guidelines and procedures
- Prepare management presentations and reports on investment operations and performance, board materials for internal management reporting purpose
- Perform research and analysis of industry peers, track industry and regulatory developments and maintain a database of such analysis
- Assist in periodic strategic reviews of asset companies in the portfolio, analyse existing business and external environment to formulate strategy to optimise returns and/or redeploy capital to new markets
- Assist with identification and entry into new markets and sectors, in line with organization’s business development and strategy
What You'll Need:
- Degree in Accountancy/ Finance with strong academic results
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), project finance, investments in energy or infrastructure assets, capital markets, audit or transaction services
- Preferably completed professional exams or qualified as a member of CFA, ISCA, ACCA, ICAEW, ICAA, or CPA Australia
- Advanced financial modelling skills with experience in building complete and complex models is a must. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a financial modelling and PowerPoint test to evaluate their skills.
- Sharp commercial and financial acumen with solid corporate finance and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, driven, resourceful, results-oriented, possess a problem-solving aptitude and able to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines
- Highly versatile and adaptable, a team player who can work independently in a fast-moving environment and multi-cultural backgrounds
- Preference is given to those who have renewable energy experience.
