Back On Track (H&F NHS Talking Therapies) are offering several places on the London-wide NHS Talking Therapies for trainee Cognitive-Behavioural Therapists. Please note this role will involve working with the adult population.

If you are an experienced mental health or social care worker with a recognised professional qualification working in a mental health setting (see core professionals list on the BABCP website), or a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience, this course gives you the training you need to become an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT Therapist) via the BABCP route.

Since launching in 2009, Back on Track has become a well-established successful NHS Talking Therapy serviceand is one of the three services provided by West London NHS Trust. Our main base is in the heart of Hammersmith near the vibrant market of Lyric Square.

We have an excellent track record of successfully supporting our CBT trainees through their training and preparing them for life after. We have also retained many of our trainees who have completed the training. We recognise that theTalking Therapiestraining programme can be demanding, and we are careful to provide weekly individual supervision, supportive line management, and a buddy system to meet the needs and maximise the learning experience of each trainee.


Applications are invited from qualified clinical or counselling psychological therapists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, OT, Social Workers and PWP to apply for the one year full-timeTalking Therapiespost graduate diploma courses based at Royal Holloway University. Applicants without a core mental health profession (such as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or counsellors without UKCP or BACP accreditation) must be able to meet the required KSA process criteria (see the Talking Therapies website for more information).

The training programme consists of three days working within Back On Track and two days at university taught by experts in the field. A typical week for a traineeinvolvesworking at least two days in the office including one evening clinic (12pm–8pm Monday to Thursday). You will then have two academic days to attend university throughout the year. There is an emphasis on ensuring trainees are provided with ample opportunities to apply their learning to their clinical sessions.

The training posts are offered at NHS band 6 plus 20% Inner London weighting for trainees with Back On Track.

The Surgery, Cancer and Cardiovascular Sciences (SCC) division is one of three divisions within Imperial College Healthcare Trust. The Vascular Surgery directorate is based at St Mary’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. We also support satellite services at both West Middlesex hospital and Chelsea and Westminster hospital.

We receive around 7,000 new general vascular referrals annually, including both GP and tertiary referrals. Our Vascular Surgery team currently perform over 1,500 daycase surgeries per year and 500+ inpatient operations as part of our elective care pathway. The team also perform more than 600 non-elective procedures on an annual basis.

There are 10 consultant surgeons, 5 specialist registrars, 2 clinical lecturers, 4 Research SpRs, 9 FY2/CT/Trust grades, 3 FY1s, and 4 AVNPs within the unit. The post holder will be well supported by this large clinical team.

A 12 month fixed term opportunity has arisen for a Junior Clinical Fellow within the directorate to undertake various clinical duties as well as academic responsibilities. • Develop, implement, and ensure the maintenance of quality control policies and procedures, consistent with the requirements of the MDD/93/42EEC, Health Technical Memorandums including, but not limited to, 01:01 & 01:06, also, ISO EN 13485, and NICE IPG196 Core requirements & NICE Guidance IPG666 and other national guidance (including professional societies and public heath bodies). Review the performance of all services against performance indicators, taking appropriate proactive/ corrective action when standards are not being achieved and apply lessons learned where possible.
• Advise on compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance) and HTM series.
• Ensure equipment used in decontamination processes is ‘fit for purpose’, maintained in a planned way and regularly tested, monitored and calibrated consistent with Department of Health Guidelines. Interpret results and remedy non-conformances that are identified.
• Develop and review the impact of the Trust associated decontamination policies, making recommendations for change and monitoring compliance where appropriate.
• Conduct, analyse and interpret Trust-wide decontamination audit results to ensure processes are in line with prescribed practice, identifying recommendations for remedial action to the Trust where appropriate and follow through on associated actions.
• Act as Chairperson for the Trust’s Decontamination committee and be a member of the medical devices group and report to the Infection Prevention and Control Committee (IPCC).
• Assess, identify, and escalate appropriately any decontamination risks, Health & Safety, Security and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) related to the Estates Department and external contractors.
• Participate in research trials and equipment testing as part of the day-to-day activity of the role

An exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse to join full time - UCLH/UCL Research and Development Agile Workforce in supporting multiple specialty studies across UCLH Trust.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Nurse to become part of the Research and Development Agile Workforce at UCLH. The Research Nurse/Clinical Trial Practitioner will provide exceptional specialist nursing care to a wide variety of patients across multiple specialties (Neurology, Women’s health, Paediatrics, Infectious disease, and many others) and deliver different phases of research across the trust. This includes early phase clinical trials as well as larger scale multicentre studies. The post holder will be supported by Senior Research Team within the unit, and the role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who are keen to develop their career in Clinical Research Nursing/Clinical Trials. The post holders will work in close collaboration with Principal Investigator and Research Support Staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Tissue Act (HTA), and trial specific protocols.

As Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the successfully delivery of our clinical research within the research directorate division. You will provide specialist skills and knowledge to coordinate and manage clinical trials and be responsible to provide high-quality research. Your main responsibility will be ensuring the recruitment of patients, completion of trial related activities and reliable data collection as per protocol requirements in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Research Governance and local Trust policies for research. You will be required to plan and manage your own workload effectively and demonstrate effective time management and prioritisation. A proactive, flexible and solution orientated approach is essential. The ability to work autonomously but in collaboration with others is essential. Strong communication and organisational skills are also essential. A flexible proactive working approach is a key element to this role.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Temporary Staffing Manager to join South London and Maudsley NHS Trust on an 18 month fixed term contract initially. This is a crucial role in ensuring we have the right staff in the right place at the right time to deliver high quality care. This is a pivotal role for the Trust in regards to ensuring effective management of our outsourced temporary staffing provider.



The main purpose of this role will be to oversee and support the management of the contract with the Trust’s outsourced partner/s for the management of temporary staffing, both medical and non-medical; ensuring identified savings are delivered in contracted timescales, while ensuring the Trust is responsive to the managed service and other outsourced partners requirements.

Through the managed service provider and outsourced partners, the post holder will be expected to monitor the performance of agencies, drive agency reduction projects inline with NHS England guidance and lead the Trust’s operational work to reduce agency usage and spend across all services to meet the Trust’s annual agency spend objectives including driving migration of workers from agency to bank and supporting bank workers to substantive contracts, ensuring optimal use of temporary staff, reducing expenditure and ensuring value for money.

About the location:

The post will be based at Maudsley Hospital in Denmark Hill with a view to moving to Brixton in the coming months.

It should be noted that this role is currently hybrid working offering great flexibility.

Ensure that fit for purpose systems, policies and procedures are in place for the provision of Bank and agency staff in all areas of the Trust, with ongoing reviews.

Develop and nurture positive relationships with managed services, third party suppliers, procurement, other agencies and stakeholders to bring rigour and appropriate scrutiny to the management of temporary staff.

Oversee and support the management of the contract with the Trust’s outsourced partner/s for the management of temporary staffing, both medical and non-medical; ensuring identified savings are delivered in contracted timescales, while ensuring the Trust is responsive to the managed service and other outsourced partners requirements.

Through the managed service provider and outsourced partners, monitor the performance of agencies to ensure quality and governance standards are met in relation to recruitment practices, professional registration, appraisal, statutory and mandatory training, professional development and performance management of their workers.

Support the retendering process to procure bank and agency services in conjunction with the Procurement Department.

To lead the Trust’s operational work to reduce agency usage and spend across all services to meet the Trust’s annual agency spend objectives including driving migration of workers from agency to bank and supporting bank workers to substantive contracts, ensuring optimal use of temporary staff, reducing expenditure and ensuring value for money.

To work across the system, including the ICB, to ensure that the Trust leads and participates actively in this work to achieve efficiencies and share best practice;

Attend monthly and quarterly contract meetings with the Trust’s managed service provider and outsourced partners to review and create ongoing actions to ensure staff staffing and quality is maintained, while reducing premium spend through bank and agency work. Sharing updates to support board level regular updates.

To be the contact in relation to temporary staffing with NHS Improvement and any other of the Trust’s regulatory bodies;

Responsibility for all reporting (internally and externally) of temporary staffing with the Trust’s Managed Service, outsourced partner and Trust’s workforce information team;

In conjunction with Workforce Information, collate, interpret and present a range of complex management information relating to the use of Bank and agency staff regularly and on an ad-hoc basis (i.e. fill rates, shift breakdowns, spend etc).

Interrogate and analyse temporary staffing reports to identify more efficient ways of driving out unnecessary cost.

Support with writing and presenting board level reports on bank and agency expenditure for all staff groups, identifying trends, actions and improvements.

Ensure that systems, policies and procedures are in place for the provision of Bank and agency staff in all areas of the Trust.

Working closely with our partners to understand the diverse needs of the Trust to manage the Managed Service and outsource services correctly

Maintain clear and creative communications about the Trust’s approach to temporary staffing on our intranet and externally and attend meetings as appropriate as the ‘technical expert’;

Through the Managed Service and outsourced providers, ensure robust processes of approval and escalation for use of agency staff in line with NHS Improvement best practice guides, working closely with Services and procurement to drive compliance with NHS Improvement agency rules regarding price caps and frameworks.

To be responsible for identification of and then raising identified risks to the Associate Director of People & OD, the agency project groups, and helping senior leaders and managers to develop their own solutions for these risks;

Completion of all Freedom of Information Requests in relation to area of responsibility.

Ensure all advice and the administration of temporary staffing for the admin and clerical staff group is undertaken for the Trust’s requirements.

To engage, communicate and work closely with the teams involved in the contract (Finance, People & OD, Procurement, Operational teams, Rostering team);

To be the primary expert support to the Trust agency project groups;

To be the HR expert in relation to the impact of IR35 and any subsequent legislation that impacts on agency workers, liaising closely with key stakeholders;

To engage with external stakeholders, including other local NHS Trusts, to ensure the Trust shares best practice.

To promote consistency of practice informed by examples of good practice external to and around the organisation;

To ensure the effective planning, monitoring and coordination/management of the Trust's temporary staffing agenda with the external provider;

Promote corporate and local induction programmes for temporary staff, maintaining close scrutiny of third-party suppliers with regard to Corporate expectations for personal development and statutory training compliance.

Develop strategies in conjunction with other managers that promote a positive employment experience for Bank staff and agency workers.

Reporting directly to theDeputy Head of DPO / Deputy Data Protection Officer in the DPO Shared Services Team,theAssistant Data Protection Officer (Admin) is responsible for providingan admin function to all the admin related duties of the department, which covers a data protection service to both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT) and North-West London Integrated Care Board (NWL ICB).
