A vacancy has arisen for the role of Pathway Co-ordinator within the Oncology Team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication & problem solving skills. You will require high levels of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively to enable day to day management. You will be working alongside a number of consultants and various other clinical staff.

To administratively co-ordinate and support with the admin team within the department, manage outpatient appointments, liaise with patients, to ensure efficient patient pathways and supporting with training and development.

It is desirable that all applicants have a sound and thorough understanding of Meditech's functionalities and significant experience of its application within the outpatient environment.

You must also have a comprehensive understanding of outpatient administrative processes, and the Trust's Patient Access Policy.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed pharmacist to join our team of Specialist Clinical Pharmacists, providing essential care and support to cancer patients. Whether you are at the beginning of your career, mid-career, or an experienced professional, we welcome applications from all backgrounds. For those with experience in Cancer Services, the position is offered at Band 8a. For those new to the specialty, we offer a progressive opportunity starting at Band 7, with a clear development pathway.

You will be supported by two highly experienced Clinical Lead Pharmacists in Haematology and Oncology, ensuring expert guidance as you develop your skills and provide patient care in these specialised areas. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy and medicines management service to cancer patients.
• At Band 8a, develop specialist knowledge in oncology and haematology.
• Clinically screen SACT prescriptions, adhering to local standards. Following competency-based training aligned with the British Oncology Pharmacy Association SACT Passport (Level 2 or 3), you will have the opportunity to pursue further education to become a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) and practise as required.
• Work closely with the Cancer Pharmacy Team Leaders to develop cancer pharmacy services and support the pharmacy elements of cancer clinical trials.
• Play a crucial role in implementing local and national standards, ensuring access to funding through the Cancer Drugs Fund (CDF) and individual funding requests (IFRs).

You will collaborate with the Oncology, Haematology, and Palliative Care teams, under the leadership of the Lead Cancer Pharmacists. We actively support independent prescribing and professional development, and we are seeking someone who shares our vision for the future of cancer services in beautiful Dorset.

Additional Information:This role includes weekend working (4 hours every Sunday, as part of a 1-in-5 rota), as well as early and late shifts within cancer services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our department provide a service to a variety of inpatient and outpatient areas including respiratory, diabetes, surgical and care of the elderly, paediatrics and oncology depending on the band 5 rotation. You should be a good team worker and be able to use your initiative.

If you enjoy working as part of a team and are keen to change and innovate practice this is the job for you. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop clinical and professional skills within a dynamic and supportive team. This post is suitable for newly qualified Dietitians or Band 5 Dietitians looking for further experience.

The post holder will work closely with our Senior Dietitians who will help train and support you along with providing opportunities of experiencing other areas of dietetics. New ways of working and evaluating our practice through audit are strongly encouraged in our team and hospital trust. Developing resources and carrying out audits will be encouraged to maintain our high profile within the hospital. We provide student training and will be expecting the post holder to contribute.

You will be responsible for administrating the recruitment of new volunteers and support with training and other office based duties associated with the voluntary services.

You must hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle to enable you to travel across UHDB sites.
