Key Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience working as a Programme Manager within the Insurance industry (Commercial Lines ideal) providing a layer of oversight.
• Experience managing large, cross functional teams in geographically dispersed functions (i.e. EMEA / APAC / Global etc.)
• The ability to harmonise, standardise, simplify and where required automate existing as well as identified new processes.

We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills who has a passion and experience for working in mental health and the ability to work flexibly and creatively in an ever-changing environment.

You will provide a sports and exercise programme for inpatients and will offer support for individuals to plan to continue this after they are discharged. You will work closely with a welcoming and friendly multi-disciplinary team and will offer individual and group sessions across four treatment wards and two psychiatric intensive care wards. Each ward has their own gym plus a space for group exercise sessions.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working with mental health clients as this essential for this band 5 post. A part of the interview selection process will involve a visit to the unit to meet staff and patients.

There is a trustwide Gym/fitness professional group which offers professional support, development and opportunities to consider Quality Improvement projects and research.

The postholder will also provide an established exercise support training session to staff working in the unit and there will be opportunity to get involved in service improvement projects across the unit.

The Haematology Day Unit is a nurse led service offers apheresis, supportive care and venesection. We care for patients with haematological cancers, sickle cell disease and other haematology diseases.

Our aim is to provide expert care to allow patients to avoid hospital admissions and to manage their disease in an ambulatory setting.

We are seeking experienced senior nurses to join our team as a Senior Staff Nurse on the Haematology Day Unit.

The individuals should be motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to organize, prioritize and co-ordinate within a challenging and fast paced environment. You will be supported by a strong expert team, including the Ward Sister, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and the inpatient Matron team.

We are currently open Monday to Friday 08.00 - 20.00. Shift patterns at present are 9.5 hour shifts per week. We do not currently work weekends or bank holidays regularly, however occasionally work out of hours to support the service and eventually we may aim for weekends to be permanent in the future.

Be responsible for ensuring that individuals subject to investigation processes receives the correct documentation and has a full understanding of what is involved and the potential outcomes, including providing regular updates on progress and explaining any reason for delay.

Ensure a consistent approach to the support of staff involved, and deal with any conflict should it arise.

Review ER management reports for the ER Advisors following the completion of Dignity at Work (Bullying and Harassment), Disciplinary and Grievance investigations undertaken by the ER team.

Review the details, once completed of the Pre-disciplinary Decision Tree Form and Terms of References for the ER Advisors.

Ensure formal hearings are proactively arranged; arrange attendance of all relevant parties including witnesses and ensure appropriately worded invite letters are sent out in a timely fashion.

Present the investigation findings at Trust hearings and/or appeal hearings.

Represent the Trust at employment tribunals and court hearings as required.

Report back any potential learning to the Commissioning Manager and Employee Relations Lead for dissemination following the conclusion of an investigation.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, staff representatives, and staff based on trust and good practice, to foster a culture of positive employee relations in keeping with Trust Values, and Just Culture and Learning.

Share knowledge and enhance standards of investigations across the Trust.

Guide and support managers in the use of a wide range of ER interventions designed to resolve people-management issues early including process documents, best-practice advice, facilitated meetings, mediation and coaching.

Delivery of investigation skills training to Trust managers in enhancing their management capability.

Act as an HR representative on Trust hearing and appeal Panels ensuring consistency and appropriateness of recommendations.

Maintain liaison with the Commissioning Manager by supporting them to provide the outcome of an investigation to the staff following the conclusion of an investigation.

Deputise for the ER Lead as and when necessary, in accordance with the service provision.

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education & Simulation. This twelve-month post offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee to develop experience and skills as a Medical Educator.

Homerton University Hospital is a Foundation Trust and teaching hospital in East London. It is a trauma unit and was the designated hospital for the 2012 Olympic Games. It is within easy walking distance to Homerton Overground station, with easy access to major transport links.

Despite this very diverse and, in parts, deprived population, Homerton Hospital has been extremely favourably reviewed with regards to the standard of care it delivers. We are also extremely proud of the fact that Homerton Hospital has attained the highest possible rating of "Outstanding" from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This includes an "Outstanding" rating for our Urgent and Emergency Services.

The education and simulation fellows provide an invaluable role for our unit, supporting medical students, medical and nursing staff and AHP’s with their career development through teaching and training. There are also many opportunities to get involved with education and training across the Trust, with a particular emphasis on simulation.

There may also be the possibility of undertaking a fully funded PG Cert via the apprenticeship scheme providing all eligibility criteria are met.

Intensive Care at Homerton is a busy and friendly unit, providing critical care to our local population and geared to their specific needs. We work actively with other units across the ICS to provide a timely and comprehensive service for our patients.

The Simulation Suite was officially opened in 2011. It is equipped with hi-fidelity mannequins including a Laerdal Sim-Man, Sim-Junior, Sim-Baby and Sim-NewB. The suite also has laparoscopic, GI-Bronch and ultrasound simulators. The sim team is exploring the possibilities of technology enhanced learning including Virtual Reality. There is a busy calendar of postgraduate and undergraduate courses being run by a diverse multi-disciplinary faculty, including mobile simulation.

The anaesthetic department has recently been recognised as an exemplar of practice by being the first in the country to be re-accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists quality assurance (ACSA) programme https://www.rcoa.ac.uk/node/29121. In particular, the reviewers recommended that our in-situ simulation programme be entered into their “good practice library” for other departments to learn from and emulate.

Similarly, our extensive in-situ simulation programme has been recognised by the Royal College of Physicians in its recent report, “Never too busy to learn” as innovative and exemplary.

The Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills service forms part of the Education Academy within Barts Health. It is responsible for providing facilities and educational opportunities for both undergraduate and post graduate trainees across Barts Health and supporting inter-professional education and training. The successful candidate will work closely as part of the wider Simulation and Essential Clinical skills team that includes medical leads, clinical skills tutors, and education academy Fellows

As part of this role the post holder will be required to design, develop, deliver & evaluate Clinical Education Programmes which encompass essential clinical skills, high fidelity simulation, haptic skills training, human factors, communications skills & patient safety training.



They will support the trusts long term strategy to embed a culture of Patient Safety & Human factors awareness through all educational programmes. Also be able to promote & support an active and responsive approach to training & development across the Trust through clinical, human factors & communication skills, & simulation based learning initiatives.
