The West Kent MSK Physiotherapy service is the primary provider for outpatient MSK services inWest Kent. We operate from three departments; the Churchill Centre in Aylesford, Sevenoaks Hospital and, Tonbridge Cottage Hospital.

We provide outpatient MSK Physiotherapy services to the residents of West Kent. Whilst working closely with our colleagues’ in other areas, to provide a Kent wide service. We form part of the Integrated Musculoskeletal (IMSK) service which incorporates the Community Orthopaedic and First Contact Practitioner team and, the Community Chronic pain team.

This role will involve working within the West Kent leadership team and the service wide clinical governance group. Our aim is to ensure the attainment and maintenance of high clinical standards, contributing to the management of patient flow and experience, in line with national guidance.

You will be required to travel across trust sites in a timely manner. This role will be mainly based at the Churchill Centre in Aylesford. However, as part of the leadership team you will be expected to work across locations in West Kent and, ad hoc throughout Kent as the service demands.

If a suitable candidate is not found from the interview process, this role may be offered as a developmental opportunity at band 6 level. It would be expected that this candidate, following a structured competency framework, would reach competence required for the band 7 role within a 6-month probationary period.

Your main responsibilities will include managing a complex clinical caseload of musculoskeletalpatients as an autonomous practitioner. Developing and maintaining a high level of skill and knowledge in all areas of clinical practice.

You will be participating in the education and training of staff and students. Take a lead role in the organization, implementation and evaluation of In-Service Training. The job may involve some virtual working both in a management and clinical capacity, either from a base or from home.

The role is split in a ratio of 70% clinical and 30% non-clinical responsibilities.

You will be able to consolidate and build on your skills with regular in-service training, clinical supervision and allocated personal CPD time; there are also Trust-wide Clinical Special Interest Groups available. We have an established appraisal system to actively support your Continued Professional Development.

About the Role:

To be responsible for investigating and resolving all stages of complaints in a fair and impartial manner. With a sound understanding of the regulatory timescales and deadlines associated with complex complaint resolution, you will be required to take case ownership and conduct a comprehensive investigation using all available information and documentation. Duties extend to dealing with all cases that are referred to the Housing Ombudsman Service. Ultimately there should be a focus on resolving complaints fairly and providing a high-level customer experience.

• Act as the case investigator and liaise with the commissioning manager to gather the detail for the issues/concerns raised
• Work autonomously as an independent and impartial practitioner

• Present investigation findings at hearings and employment tribunals as appropriate
