· The Ward Clerk is an integral part of the ward team here on Acute Medicine. We are looking for someone who is proficient, organized, has good time keeping with excellent people and communication skills. GMMH are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual into the role of perinatal outreach practitioner for an exciting new team working to bridge the gap between inpatients and community perinatal services.

The Outreach Practitioner will be a member of the Specialist Perinatal Outreach Team, providing outreach services across the wider Greater Manchester area for those in the perinatal period.

The Outreach Practitioner will have a personal case load and will be responsible for assessment, formulation and prescribing of care planning including discharge planning within agreed protocols. They will be providing support to complex cases and ensuring that both mother/birthing person and baby receive the best care. Providing the opportunity to support patients in the community who are vulnerable to admission to Andersen ward mother and baby unit (MBU) and be able to facilitate early and safe discharge.

The post holder will have the knowledge of or a passion for perinatal mental health, and will advise the multi-disciplinary team on expert, safe and effective models of care and treatment.

The post holder will effectively require working across the range of services as determined by service user need.

The successful practitioner is required to be qualified as either a registered nurse, occupational therapist or social worker and be registered with the relevant governing body.

The Practitioner will work closely with the ward and community MDT to identify patients who would befit from working with the outreach team, perform home visits at times on a lone working basis, manage and triage referrals into the ward and the outreach team, act in the role of bed management for Andersen ward mother and baby unit. The post would ideally suit someone with experience of working with families during the perinatal period or a passion for working, learning and developing in this area.

The outreach team also facilitate safe discharge from the ward, developing robust crisis and contingency plans to support leave and eventual discharge from the ward. Once discharged from the ward, the teamwork with mothers/birthing people and their families to offer ongoing support.

The outreach team will also support mothers/birthing people in the community who are vulnerable to admission to the MBU providing short term interventions alongside the patients allocated care coordinator within the wider specialist perinatal community service.

The successful practitioner will need to be flexible within the period of Monday to Friday 9am until 7pm, with a shift pattern to meet the needs of the population.

The successful practitioner is required to be qualified as either a registered nurse, occupational therapist or social worker and be registered with the relevant governing body.

Our surgical specialities Vascular, HPB, General surgery, Head and Neck (including ENT and Maxillofacial), Urology, Orthopaedic, Renal and Transplant.

MRI is the Major Adult Trauma Centre for Greater Manchester and we have recently completed our onsite helipad to provide better access to the North West region and we have started the regeneration of our emergency department and expansion of our main theatre complex to include new state of the art operating theatres.

The post holder will work primarily within Manchester Royal Infirmary Theatres but may occasionally be required to work within theatres at other hospitals within the trust. The post holder is responsible for ensuring immediate care to the client group and will work primarily within the Theatre Department.

The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. Work closely with the multi- disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. An Exciting opportunity has arisen for a Colorectal Cancer Care Coordinator. This role is to support the Colorectal Cancer Nurse Specialist Team. This is a secondment position to cover maternity leave for 12 months.

An opportunity has arisen at Salford Royal Hospital for the appointment of a Locum Consultant Upper GI & General Surgeon. The successful candidate will join an established team of 9 Colorectal Surgeons, 6 General Surgeons with mixed Specialty interest & 7 OesophagoGastric Surgeons within the General Surgery department.

The Ledger Clerk Role
This is a full-time role, working Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, at our Gottlieb Packaging site in Trafford Park, Manchester. The successful candidate will primarily focus on a range of administrative tasks, including manually checking paperwork and producing customer invoices via SAGE 50. We are therefore seeking someone who can handle these tasks while also being able to take on more advanced accounts administration work as they become more experienced. Over time, this individual will be expected to provide cover and deputise for the Accounts Manager during absences.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is an international leader in cancer research and development and is one of the largest cancer treatment centres of its kind in Europe.

We are very pleased to offer this post doc opportunity for a fixed term basis to join our R&I division as a ANP/Nurse Fellow.

The purpose of the post is for a post-doctoral Nurse/ Allied Health Professional to lead and conduct research and integrate findings into practice and deliver the Trust’s plan to increase high quality patient-centred research.

The post-holder will be expected to conduct and engage in all aspects of research activity, implement routine monitoring of unmet needs into the teenage and young adult (TYA) Late effects service and collect pilot data required for completing competitive external funding applications.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the organisational values and behaviours and are able to role model and lead by example. You must be self-motivated and be able to motivate teams and groups, and lead through authenticity and compassion.

The post-holder will lead applications for research grants and fellowships to secure funding for further research. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Planning and organisational duties:
• Provide professional and management leadership to support the development of clinical research activity for defined staff.
• Supports with the development and implementation of the R&I strategy and objectives.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 3 million people within the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cancer Network, providing surgery, radiotherapy and complex chemotherapy services.
Applications are welcomed for a 12 month HPB & OG Clinical Fellow, post commencing January 2025 in Clinical Oncology, based at The Christie NHS FT, Manchester, UK Europe’s largest single site cancer hospital.
This post is for 40 hours per week as a Clinical Fellow within the HPB and OG disease group under the specialty of Clinical Oncology for a fixed term period of 12 months. These include (but are not limited to) the screening of referrals, active participation in MDT, assessment of patients, consent, review of patients on pre-treatment, treatment, planning of SABR, review and approval of SABR plans, precision radiotherapy development and post treatment and ePROMS. ORGANISATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS
This post is for 40 hours per week as a Clinical Fellow is work within the clinical oncology Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and) Oesophago-Gastric (OG) disease group, with a strong interest in SABR (Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy) for a fixed term period of 12 months. The post holder will be employed by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and will be predominantly based at The Christie at Withington site, with potential rotation to the radiotherapy satellite centres.
Role Purpose

The appointee will be a Fellow in the department of Clinical Oncology within the HPB & OG disease group

The employing authority is The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

The appointee will be managerially accountable to the Clinical Director of the Directorate of Clinical Oncology

The Appointee will be professionally responsible to the consultants in whose clinics they will be supporting.

The post-holder will be assigned a clinical supervisor (Consultant Clinical Oncologist). They will work alongside their supervisor in at least one clinic.

Will develop expertise in the development, management and treatment of HPB and oligometastatic tumour sites with SABR
The successful applicant would be expected to work alongside consultants and trainees in out-patient clinics, supervising Technical Radiotherapy delivery and performing on-treatment reviews and follow-up assessments.

The medical establishment provides currently consists of 59 Consultants who run the clinical service and research practice. There is also a team of 23 SpRs plus Academic Clinical Fellows.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that the highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment is safe and accurate to operate, both for staff and patients; undertaking the appropriate machine checks and reporting any variances, faults and malfunctions
• Undertake and evaluate radiation dose delivery and complex calculations involving a range of radiation types and energies
• Interpret, monitor and evaluate the treatment prescriptions to ensure that radiotherapy is delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system
• Evaluate delivery of radiotherapy through application and interpretation of treatment verification procedures
• Ensure the team follows appropriate systems and working methods to achieve the safe, timely achievement of workload targets
• Be able to accurately position patient and operate highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment along the radiotherapy pathway
• Ensure the team keeps accurate records and comply with necessary policies and procedures
• Analyse systematically and evaluate all data and information relevant to patients’ diagnosis, ensuring the patient and their relatives are treated with dignity and respect at all times
• Communicate confidential sensitive information, and provide emotional support, to patients and their carers/relatives including children and the terminally ill
• Provide information to patients and their carers with regard to the radiotherapy pathway and expected side effects
• To communicate accurate and timely information with all other disciplines involved along the patients pathway
• With the team on the unit, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team manage areas of conflict and escalate as necessary
• Anticipate and identify common and complex treatment related side effects, offering advice and where necessary refer to other relevant health care professionals
• To provide, receive and use sensitive information maintaining patient confidentiality at all times in line with information governance legislation
• Apply safe and effective moving and handling skills in order to protect patients and staff and abide by Health and safety legislation in the work place
• Minimise risk of cross infection through contamination by bodily fluids/matter. In accordance of the infection control policy
• To implement the procedures and work instructions described for the department in accredited quality management system and report any variances
• Contribute to development of the quality management system by reviewing and writing work instructions and operating procedures
• Ensure all work and actions comply with local rules and current UK Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999 and IR(ME)R 2000
• Be aware of and participate in the audit and research within the department and the implementation of new processes and techniques
• Undertake training and competency to dispense medication under Patient Group Direction (PGD)
• Participate in the extended shift system, bank holidays, weekend working and on-call.
• Any other duties negotiated with the post holder, to develop their role in the Organisation
• To achieve all the competencies as outlined by the radiotherapy education team within a time period as outlined by line manager

Supervisory & Managerial
• As a band 6 you will be expected to lead, co-ordinate, supervise and manage a team of staff operating radiotherapy equipment and act as lead practitioner, making assessments and key decisions in regard to workload management, patient care and treatment

Teaching and Training
• As a band 6 you will be expected to provide mentorship and guidance for junior staff and be a good role model
• Participate in an annual Personal Development Review
• Attend all essential training and clinical updates as required and ensure your team also attend all relevant training
• Be capable of assimilating new ideas and techniques and have an ability to assess their value
• Assist in the supervision and training/teaching of pre-registration students and new members of staff
• Highlight to line manager all issues of inadequate performance, including capability and poor professional standards, for students and employees. Provide evidence where necessary and requested.
