We're thrilled to announce an opportunity for an adept individual to step into the role of Senior Co-ordinator within the family group conferencing team. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the expansion of an innovative service within our Trust.
A Family Group Conference (FGC) is a family led meeting, supported by their wider network in which people come together to plan for a child/ren. The process is supported by an independent and impartial co-ordinator who helps the family prepare.
The role of the Senior is to support the team to deliver the service in line with the organisational strategy and to supervise and support the FGC team in the development and delivery of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust Family Group Conferencing Service. As part of the role the post holder will line manage and deliver supervision to 4 FCG co-ordinators and 1administator.
This role will be required to support families to make realistic, safe, and robust plans for the protection of their children and to enable families to care for their children within their own family and friend’s network.

What will you be doing?- To lead and manage, oversee, and support the work of a team of FGC staff: FGC Co-ordinators and Business Support to ensure that all FGC work undertaken is of high quality and effective in meeting targets
- Co-ordinate the delivery of FGCs including caseload management, monitoring and task allocation
- Provide professional leadership and support to ensure the team adheres to safe practices and manages workloads effectively within agreed standards and timeframes.

- To monitor performance against key performance indicators and, prepare and present performance data, reports, and programme information and work with partner agencies to deliver a highly performing FGC service
- Implement services that are responsive to the voices and experiences of children to enhance outcomes.
- To hold a small caseload to maintain own professional skill and ensure that all staff retain a high level of integrity to the model
About you- Minimum level 5 Qualification in in Social Work, Health or Education. Or equivalent substantial, relevant professional experience of working with children , young people vulnerable adults and their families AND qualified to deliver Family Group Conferences.
- Family Group Conference Trained/qualified, and experience of delivering FGC’s
- A deep understanding of the complex issues faced by children and young people at the edge of care, and what works to create and maintain safe, stable and sustained outcomes.
- Proven experience in supervising or supporting staff to deliver whole family interventions.
- Extensive, hands-on experience in preventative work with children and families facing escalating needs, with demonstrated ability to assess risks, safeguard, and intervene effectively.
- Enhanced DBS Clearance.
