An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced respiratory professional to join a new service supporting altered airway and complex respiratory patients across North-Central London (NCL). The service was started in 2023 and has funding to expand and continue for 12-months.

The aim of the role is to provide respiratory expertise; to facilitate hospital discharge of altered airway and complex respiratory patients, support management in the community and provide education and training for other community teams. The role will be hosted by UCLH and will have close working links with other acute hospitals and services across NCL.

We are looking for an individual with advanced skills in the management of altered airway and complex respiratory patients, in the acute or community setting. Experience working in the community, project management skills or previous experience developing a service are desirable.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and motivated person who can provide decisive and effective therapy input and demonstrate high level communication skills and a flexible approach when working under pressure. This would be an ideal secondment for someone looking to further their experience.

• To input to the design and delivery of this service; while supporting complex respiratory management of patients across NCL.
• To provide support to facilitate discharge from and avoid admission to hospital for these individuals.
• To provide expert clinical advice through training, guidance and information to the community teams and people who support the patients at home
• To be an experienced practitioner in all aspects of respiratory practice, developing an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability in the provision of such care.
• To be an expert practitioner in delivering high quality respiratory care in domiciliary and community settings.
• To work within multi-disciplinary teams and liaise appropriately with all members of the multidisciplinary team and service users both within local hospitals and in area’s anticipatory care system.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, full time band 7 sonographers to join our busy, friendly Ultrasound team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We provide a comprehensive (mainly non-obstetric) ultrasound service to a wide range of specialities within the hospital and local GPs.

At Charing Cross Hospital, we perform general abdominal, gynaecological, small parts, Testes, including Head & Neck, venous Doppler, MSK and contrast enhanced microbubble scans.

Experience in MSK would be preferable but is not essential. We would support training in MSK scanning by encouraging attendance to courses and working with MSK consultants in order to gain knowledge and experience and to eventually deliver independent MSK sessions.

Posts are available at Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. Sonographers are not required to rotate between sites and current working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 but this may change in the future to provide 7-day service.

All three departments are excellent to work in, where further training and development is supported. Regular meetings are held to discuss interesting cases. You will be expected to work independently, however support from other sonographers and radiologists is always available and encouraged.

Candidates must hold PG (cert), PG (Dip) or DMU or equivalent and be state registered with the HCPC if you have an underlying profession.

As an accountable registered A&E nurse you will be responsible for delivering excellent care to patients attending the emergency department, providing assessment and total patient care in a fast paced environment.

Clinical duties, include acute medical and surgical assessment, managing deteriorating patients, supporting patients with mental health needs, working across all areas of the department including majors, minors, resuscitation, triage, utilising your assessment skills, phlebotomy and cannulation, recording ECG and cardiac monitoring.

You will also be required to provide guidance and support to junior staff.

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients’ families.

Moorfields Eye Hospital, London is looking for an enthusiastic Orthoptist to join the team working in central London. The successful candidate will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team which includes ophthalmologists, nurses, optometrists, technicians, administrative staff and health care assistants.

The City Road service assesses around 18, 000 out-patients per year, and therefore this is a great opportunity not only to consolidate and develop your core orthoptist but work within a team of highly experienced Orthoptist and be supported by a clinical buddy.

• To be responsible for the orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management of new patients referred to the orthoptic department from the Trust’s specialist services at City Road including Primary Care Clinic (PCC) and A&E.
