You will be joining a team that is one of the highest performing Emergency Departments in the UK, that achieves consistently good clinical engagement, patient flow and has an OUTSTANDING rating at CQC.
We are looking for a Children's ED Nurse with significant experience at Band 5 in the specialty. Evidence of organizational and leadership potential as well as a commitment to teaching and facilitating training is essential. You will also need an understanding of recent developments in Emergency Nursing and be able to translate and implement this into quality nursing care.
You will join a forward thinking multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering high standards of care in a diverse community. Applicants must enjoy a fast pace acute environment as well as having a keen interest in delivering excellence in holistic care.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their clinical knowledge of ED nursing and be able to translate this into effective nursing practice in a leadership role within this challenging environment. They will need to be highly motivated, energetic, hardworking, proactive, as well as committed to their own professional development.
The Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse will:
• Act as an independent practitioner whilst providing advanced clinical practice in the assessment and management of patients in the Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate an advanced level of leadership and operational management, ensuring nursing and medical staff at all levels feel supported.
• Independently manage the Department on a shift to shift basis in the absence of a Band 7 Senior Sister.
• Assist in the development of educational needs of all staff and will act as a clinical mentor to junior staff.
• Advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness
