We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Service Line, on Rose Ward, an acute psychiatric ward at Springfield Hospital in Tooting. Rose Ward is a female ward with 18 beds plus 2 “surge” beds that are used at times of high demand. The ward has recently moved from Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton to Springfield, as the Trust no longer provides inpatient services on that site.

The ward has a full multidisciplinary team including consultant, two trainee doctors, a specialty doctor (0.5 wte), psychologist (0.5 wte), OT, specialist nurses, activity workers, healthcare assistants, ward clerk and ward manager.

We are seeking a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Waltham Forest Rapid Response : The team provides urgent multidisciplinary assessments and interventions to avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital.



you will be working alongside:

Integrated Supported Home Discharge team.- The team operate a discharge to assess model from Whipps Cross Hospital and work closely with colleagues from social care to facilitate timely discharges from the acute wards. This role allows the therapist to follow the patient journey from hospital to home and offer rehabilitation in patient's own home to assist them in regaining their independence following an admission.

Community Rehabilitation Team-This team offers 6 weeks of rehabilitation for patients referred from acute hospitals, GPs and other community services and work closely with rehabilitation assistants to provide intensive rehabilitation.

Ainslie Rehabilitation Unit- The team offers inpatient rehabilitation for patient requiring ongoing inpatient rehabilitation post-acute hospital admission. The therapists work closely with nursing and medical colleagues to plan the rehabilitation and discharge arrangements.

Falls Prevention Service-offers falls prevention service, including balance classes and home visits to patients over 65, who are deemed at risk of falls or who have a history of falls.

Integrated Discharge Hub-the discharge hub is a joint health and social care service, aimed at facilitating discharges from the acute setting, based on the home first principle. The therapists in the team act as discharge planning experts and support the transition from hospital to home.



High Cost Area Supplement - London

The Finance department encourages and values experiential learning and offers an array of courses supporting BS Finance, BS Financial Technology (FinTech) which is offered jointly by the Finance and Computer Information Systems departments, MS Finance (with a STEM designated Financial Analytics Track), and MBA (Finance concentration) degrees at Bentley. The Finance department provides strong support for faculty research through summer research grants and Bentley’s subscription to a range of financial data including Factset, IBES, ISS databases, Thompson Reuters, CRSP Mutual Fund, Trace, SDC, to name a few, in addition to standard databases such as CRSP and Compustat. Are you interested in delivering evidence based treatments with children and young people in a primary care setting and at the same time working within a dynamic CAMHS service here in Waltham Forest ?

The Waltham Forest Primary Care Team is a friendly, creative, forward thinking team who are committed to further developing our work within our local community. We work closely with GPs, Education Services, families & local Community groups to deliver our interventions in a safe & accessible way. We offer our children & young people choice about where they receive these interventions, & work alongside them to ensure they are fully aware of the treatment options available to them.

Are you a Graduate qualified health care professional or have substantial CAMHS clinical experience, working in mental health with children and young people, and where appropriate you will be fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC)?

You will work within the service providing evidence based assessments and treatment interventions in mild to moderate severity of conditions. Clinical supervision will be provided from within the service.

The team work out of various community based services, whilst maintaining a base within the Wood Street Health Clinic, alongside Specialist CAMHS & other Children's Health services.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).



Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.



High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).

The post holder will achieve this by being responsible for delivering clinical interventions within the primary care pathway in the CAMHS locality , based in the local community. You will receive clinical supervision from a senior PCT practitioner within or from the team Clinical lead.

You will also routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based clinical interventions, within CAMHS.
