Location: Poole, BH15 2AS

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 17:00 with occasional flexibility required.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (plus 10% bonus)

Purpose:

To lead effective delivery of NPD, EPD and Continuous Improvement agenda in line with customer category plans and The Compleat
Food Group brand.

Your Duties Will Include:

* Delivery of the NPD / EPD process from kitchen handover to launch in line with customer category plans through management of
development work across the site
* Support refinement of product at kitchen stage to ensure manufacturing standards will be met, taking lead role in feasibility
meetings and cost building
* Lead the Process teams to move product from kitchen to factory, ensuring all aspects of product quality are met and delivers
the agreed margin.
* Manage the development work across the site to ensure that it is delivered to required cost and within agreed timescales.
* Accountable for all stages of critical path of projects with understanding of the implications and effects of deviations.
* Lead process team documentation to support product development to an auditable standard
* Lead the launch of product to agreed standards including leading launch meetings, running of the trial, and efficient handover
to Technical and production teams
* Understand and drive proactive process development initiatives which push production boundaries
* Support post-launch review through work with Technical teams for ongoing assessment of product quality, solve manufacturing
problems, driving continuous improvement, identify cost savings and efficiency to the business
* Promote health and safety culture by following all H&S requirements during kitchen and process development work
* Line management including regular 121 sessions, provide team updates, escalate areas of issues, mid-year and end of year
appraisals
* Occasional ad hoc projects, which may require time spent at other sites across the business




Experience:

* Passion for food, looking to continue career within food manufacturing
* Experience of managing people with the development function
* HACCP / Food Safety Training
* Experience working with own label chilled foods
* Experience of dealing with customer relationships e.g. JS, Asda, M&S
* HND/Degree in food based/manufacturing subject (desirable)

Role Purpose

Purpose:

To support the New Product Development (NPD) team in creating brand and customer specifications in line with company and customer
standards against legal labelling criteria. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
whilst providing administrative support to group wide functions and specific specification customer requests.

Your Duties Will Include:

* Effective completion and maintenance of customer specifications and portal systems in line with customer category plans and
company agenda including raw materials, packaging and legality.
* Work alongside Procurement, Technical and Packaging to ensure that teams have acquired and maintained accurate raw material and
packaging supplier information
* Management of the specification administration process from concept, through to delist.
* Adhere to latest labelling guidelines and customer codes of practice whilst understanding customer policies and procedures
* Complete documentation in support of the product development team and wider business when required.
* Support artwork process and lead at site level to produce legal packaging in line with company, retailer and industry standards
* Support in customer/audit visits to site from a customer specification perspective
* Promote and follow safe working across site and advice immediately on unsafe work practices.



Experience:

* Previous complex technical management and/or hygiene management experience at a senior level.
* Previous people management experience

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead one of our largest manufacturing sites "Poole Bakery", overseeing the
complete 24/7 manufacturing operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring our savoury pastry products meet the highest standards of
quality and service on time, every time while achieving budgeted profit levels.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership: Manage and coordinate the operation of our Factory to deliver on budgeted profit levels and customer satisfaction.
* Financial Management: Set overhead budgets, monitor performance against these budgets, and ensure accurate forecasting.
* Operational Excellence: Drive a culture of continuous improvement to enhance profitability, service, and quality standards.
* Product Development: Liaise with the Process/Product development teams on product and process plans, ensuring manufacturing
ownership in the introduction of new products.
* Team Development: Appraise, coach, and develop managers to meet business succession plans and individual career aspirations.
* Customer Engagement: Maintain regular contact with customers to build confidence in our team and business (including hosting
customer and supplier visits)
* Project Management: Plan and oversee capital expenditure, equipment sourcing, and installation, ensuring financial benefits are
delivered as forecasted.




Who we are looking for :

* Experience:
* 10+ years in food manufacturing, ideally within a short-life, chilled high-care retailer brand.
* Expertise in Change Management, Financial P&L, Budgeting, HR Practices, and Supply Chain.
* Desirable: Experience in Customer/Commercial management of Top 5 Retailers.
* Technical Skills:

Knowledge of chilled food manufacturing practices and processes, food safety, technical processes, and project management.

* Formal Qualifications:

Degree in a food-related field is required; management qualifications are desirable.

* Leadership Skills:

Strong coaching abilities with experience in training/mentoring, succession planning and recruitment.
