40 Hours per week, 50 weeks per year with shift, evening and weekend work
St John’s is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Head Chef with the flair to produce healthy nutritional meals. This is a challenging and varied position, providing core catering for the school community as well as fine dining for internal functions and external bookings.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate high standards of food safety, allergen management and hygiene controls, with a proven track record of cost and budgetary management. The postholder will be a confident communicator, with the ability to lead and maintain a committed and engaged team of chefs and porters. The postholder must be IT literate and possess strong organisational skills.
This position requires someone who is flexible and willing to work weekends and evenings where necessary.

As Commis Chef you will be preparing and assisting in creating the finest dishes using local produce, you will work directly under the Chef de Partie, assist the team in your section ensuring the highest standards of product and work with the Senior team members to develop your products and your own knowledge

Requirements for this Commis Chef position:-

NVQ Level 1 and 2 or Equivalent
Food Hygiene Certifications
Good written and spoken English

Good knowledge of cooking techniques and styles
