Reports to: Sous Chef and Head Chef - Magpies Sporting Club currently has an employment opportunity for an experienced Cook to join our team.
Successful Candidates will be able to meet the following requirements.
Ability to prepare and store food ensuring stock rotation and control is maintained.
Ability to prepare meals, ensuring presentation, portion control and quality is of the highest standard.
Ability to work in the Fryer section of the Kitchen during service periods, producing high quality fried foods within acceptable timeframes.
Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchens, food service and storage areas associated with the kitchen. Maintain kitchen equipment and individual tools of the trade
Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.
Provide some direction and support to Apprentices, Work Experience Students or Kitchen Hands as requested by Sous or Head Chef.
Participate as required in stock-takes and stock control procedures.
Demonstrate effective liaison skills with customers and guests including complaint handling.
Maintain a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude towards co-workers, Club management, members, patrons, and guests.
Demonstrate effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a part of a team.
Ensure that all Health Regulations relating to the preparation and presentation of food and Work, Health and Safety legislation are complied with.
Inform or report on any equipment failures, workplace hazards and inappropriate behaviour from co-workers Club members, patrons, and guests.
Work and operate within the scope of Club policies and procedures.
Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness, and co-operation in all aspects of the above responsibilities.
Experience:· 5 years cooking experience
