This role in OHS is integral to achieving our vision and mission. As stewards of safety excellence, we oversee university-level health and safety programs, including radiation safety, chemical safety, electrical safety, and more. Our department is dedicated to establishing policies and processes that support the promotion and sharing of best practices in safety and health among colleges, schools, research centers, and departments within NTU.
Responsibilities
Serve as the secretariat for University-level safety and health committees, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Conduct comprehensive safety and health inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations. Organize promotional and outreach programmes at the University level, including drafting publicity materials, coordinating logistics, and conducting site reconnaissance. Develop and refine in-house standard operating procedures to enhance safety protocols and practices. Prepare reports for regulators and national authorities, compiling data on safety compliance and occupational health surveillance. Administer IT systems related to health and safety, ensuring smooth operation and utilization. Support website maintenance and updates to disseminate relevant safety information effectively. Monitor quality and customer service ratings to continuously improve safety programmes and services. Manage procurement of supplies and equipment, liaising with suppliers, processing invoices, and maintaining records.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Physical Sciences, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental), or related fields, with relevant certificates in safety, health, and environmental technology preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience coordinating safety and health programmes, preferably in an institutional or corporate setting.
- Independent, meticulous, and resourceful individual with strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Programming experience would be an added advantage for leveraging data analytics and IT systems.
