An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Kent locality to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic person, with an interest in pulmonary rehabilitation to assist in providing high level input for patients with respiratory conditions.
Pulmonary rehabilitation provides pre- and post- holistic assessments, exercise, education and self-management support to respiratory patients within a group setting in community venues.
Your input into this service will allow patients to improve their functional ability and breathlessness management to make a tangible difference to their quality of life. The team are now also integral to providing a rehabilitation service to those patients recovering Long-Covid.

The service currently provides regular in-service training, clinical supervision, protected CPD time, and input into local clinical interest groups. The trust also encourages staff to develop and provide training opportunities internally and externally as identified during the annual appraisal process.
The Trust has also achieved Foundation Trust Status and rated as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC. The service is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians, being the first team in the area to achieve this status.
We are recruiting to cover programmes being delivered in Ashford/South Kent Coast.
You will work closely with the physiotherapist responsible for the patient caseload. The role includes taking responsibility for the patient register, managing patient appointments and liaising with patients and carers, supporting the healthcare professional team in assessing patients as required, eg. conducting pulse oximetry and incremental shuttle walking tests, exercise supervision, warm-up/cool downs and supporting education sessions. The position will require the use of a car.
You will be supported to develop your knowledge in this area to support acutely unwell and multifaceted patients’ and includes working in a range of settings.
There is an option of hours from a minimum of 22.5 hours up to a maximum of 37.5 hours
Additional Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per day
