Night Nurse Manager (RGN)

Salary: £52,400

Hours per week: 48

Our client is looking for a compassionate and highly skilled Night Nurse Manager to oversee their night-time operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to their patients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities and a deep commitment to providing exceptional nursing services.

Qualifications

• RGN (Registered General Nurse) qualification, with a focus on adult nursing
• Proven experience in a nursing leadership role, ideally in a night-time setting
• Strong understanding of nursing best practices and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations

Day-to-Day

• Manage and oversee the night shift nursing staff, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of patient care
• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and health outcomes
• Provide leadership and support to the night shift nursing team, including conducting performance evaluations and providing training and development opportunities
• Act as a resource and advocate for patients and their families, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during the night shift
• Monitor patient progress and implement appropriate interventions as needed

Responsibilities:

You will oversea a team of nurses and well-trained care staff as a Night Nurse Manager and your duties will be to promote clinical excellence, keep records and maintain clinical governance, manage staff rotas, supervisions, and appraisals, and manage admissions into the service alongside working with the wider MDT.

You will display a caring, sensitive, and approachable nature whilst being organised and reliable in approach to work. You will play a key part in the management and successful running of the Care Home.

Job Purpose

Assess all aspects of client's care needs and provide health supervision and direct Nursing Care when required.

Assess social and health care needs of new clients and maintain on-going assessment and review of all other Clients.

Ensure that Client care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Clients, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines and company policy.

Administer prescribed medicines and document the same in accordance with the company's procedure and NMC guidelines.

Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Clients personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship which exists clients.

Supervise and instruct junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work in the care home, giving help and guidance where appropriate.

Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site when required.

Establish and maintain good communication with clients, relatives and with the multidisciplinary team. Provide administrative support when required.

About the role
As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
overseeing and managing all your unit’s clinical elements and risks
ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
the supervision and management of your unit’s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.
