This is a training position and so all candidates will need to apply for both the trainee role with H&F CAMHS and the UCL Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Young Person IAPT Therapy in order to be shortlisted. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. This full-time training will begin in January 2025 with around 2.5 days a week for academic work (teaching and personal study), and 2.5 days based at the service seeing clients related to training assignments.
Trainees will be both an employee of the service and an enrolled student with UCL/Anna Freud. Upon completion, qualified trainees will receive a UCL Postgraduate Diploma.
This is a dual application process. In addition to applying for this position with us, you must also complete a UCL application for the Course Team to review. The Course Team will liaise with us on whether you meet the academic requirements for the course during the recruitment process.
You will offer a high-quality service to young people, families / carers, alongside working effectively with your colleagues and liaising with other professionals in the network.
CYP-IAPT training will enable you to deliver - under intensive supervision - high quality, focused evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people experiencing moderate mental health difficulties (e.g. low mood and anxiety). This in turn will equip those in post to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven mental health service. The roles will be exciting and varied, including individual and group working in a CAMHS setting, enabling the post holders to develop a range of skills and experience whilst studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Child & Young Person IAPT Therapy.
The post provides excellent opportunities for professional development and regular supervision. This post in H&F CAMHS will provide the trainee with amble opportunities to practice what they are learning in their studies with robust support, guidance and supervision in place.
