Main duties include: Check and monitor the practices generic email account. Transfer clinical records, allocating to workflow for review by doctors and responding to queries from health professionals, patients and third parties. Scan/upload clinical correspondence onto the clinical system and input coding data into the patient's healthcare records. Distribute daily pathology laboratory results within the clinical system for clinicians review. Ensure all tasks within the clinical systems are dealt with efficiently. Monitor and process daily administrative eConsult requests. Manage all patient, healthcare professional and staff enquiries in an effective manner. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately. Register and monitor new patient registrations via the Healthtech-1 portal. Process new patients medical records and deductions.

Clinical Responsibilities: To provide treatment room services to the level of competency achieved within the confines of Practice Protocols and Procedures. To promote and maintain high standards of nursing care in accordance with the NMC Code of professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses. To provide Chronic Disease Management clinics to the level of competency achieved within the confines of Practice Protocols and Procedures Assist in the monitoring and observation of patients. Ensure that the principles of Infection Control are always adhered to. Report any concerns relating to a patients condition to either a senior nurse or, in their absence, the doctor on-call. On occasions when a more senior nurse is not on duty or available to the practice nurse, the on-call GP must be approached with any matters of concern. Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments, plus giving opportunistic health promotion advice as appropriate. Undertake training as required for the developing role of a treatment room nurse. Responsibilities within the Nursing Team: Make the most effective and economical use of all supplies and equipment. Work flexibly with the team in the planning of rotas to enable adequate staff cover during periods of annual leave, sickness absence and training. Maintain accurate, confidential and contemporaneous records of care, both manual and electronic as appropriate. Attend and participate in relevant staff meetings and communicate effectively any relevant information within the team. Use information technology for updating patient records and retrieving audit information as required. To fully participate in administrative and professional responsibilities of the Nursing Team. To fully participate in the education and training of students in all disciplines as required. To liaise with other Health/Social Professionals as appropriate. Professional Responsibilities: To keep abreast of developments in nursing care as appropriate. To abide by the Practice policies and protocols. To be aware of all aspects of Health & Safety issues, for example, Fire and Emergency procedures, COSHH, Manual Handling procedures, disposal of clinical waste and infection control.
