We are looking for a Dentist to cover a locum assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Honington Dental Centre, in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.

This is a locum role (37 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Job Description – Service Requirements
• To work independently and to provide both a full range of dental treatment to maintain oral health and to undertake related general administrative duties where required to work towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of personnel for whom they are providing care for.
• To assist the Senior Dental Officer (SDO), when present, or operate independently to achieve dental fitness targets, for all entitled personnel, as detailed in the SG Policy and Standards Document (P&SD).
• To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact.
• To ensure that all treatment is correctly recorded on the electronic health record and any relevant FMed documents

Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience
• Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
• Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or have evidence of at least 12 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience derived in a primary dental care setting, or have qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the NHS.
• Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• Must provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4 Returning to Clinical Practice, specifically a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.
• To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection.
• To be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.
• Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures (in accordance with the Department of Health policy entitled “Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV: New Healthcare Workers”).
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.

With the referral team and Responsible Clinician, undertake assessment of patients referred to our service and feedback as required

Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessment and co-produce care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carers

Undertake comprehensive risk assessment and formulate risk management plans with Service Users, their families and Carers,

To assist the Unit Manager with the on-going development of the unit

In the absence of the manager, undertake responsibility for the day to day running of the unit

In consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, ensure high standards of individual care for patients and that they are fully consulted and involved in every aspect of their care

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. With a genuine interest in DIY and enthusiasm, our Maintenance team positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the Home Manager to maintain a safe environment. As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:

-Responsible for the upkeep of the Care Home and surrounding grounds and undertake planned maintenance of the home ensuring excellent first Impressions to all who visit

-Ensuring the smooth operation and serviceability of all services such as heating, lighting, plumbing and non-medical equipment required for the safe and efficient operation of the Home.

-Maintaining the homes exterior including: Pathways and driveways are clear unobstructed and safe. Plants are kept hydrated, flowerbeds and potted plants are tendered and grassed areas kept tidy to enhance 1st impressions. Ensure that external lighting and signs inside and outside the home are clear visible and in good order/ repair.

-Ensuring compliance and essential checks are completed and identifying and reporting all maintenance defects

-Engaging proactively with all stakeholders ensuring all allocated tasks outside and inside the site are carried out effectively and efficiently and to a high standard

-Able to undertake decorating, including painting & wallpapering, minor refurbishment and maintenance within the home

-Able to provide out of hours emergency service by participating in the on call rota and be proactive when asked to provide temporary cover for sister homes.

-Suitably trained to be an active Fire Warden and to keep up to date within policy and procedures including all training as required. Induct new staff as required.

-Able to assemble /install new equipment/goods delivered to a home.

-Assisting with the fire and water risk assessments and reviews.

-Carrying out plumbing, joinery and general building repairs to a good standard.

-Maintaining the company vehicle and carrying out basic safety checks.
