• Oversee a communication program that conveys the NCI’s leadership role in cancer research, diagnosis, prevention and treatment through the application of state-of-the-art and unified public affairs and media relations activities.
• Advise CEA and NCI Directors, providing leadership to a complex communications program which is highly visible both nationally and internationally and has an extensive impact on a broad range of constituencies in the public and private sectors.
• Provide strategic advice on handling sensitive issues and the release of information for highly visible and publicized studies, projects, and events that receive intense scrutiny by the public, the media, and Congress.
• Coordinate with NIH, HHS and the White House on the handing of these issues and represents the NCI Director in related interactions.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse/Team Leader, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care to the Veteran patient with consideration to psychosocial, cultural, and age specific needs. Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems, and knowledge of age specific differences from the adult or older population. • Perform experiments in accordance with protocols. Critically analyze results to determine whether data generated is accurate and meets the goals of the experiments.

If selected for this position as a Biologist (Safety), GS-0401-12/13 your duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Serves as Program Manager and responsible for leading operations of the NIH Quarantine Permit Service Office (QPSO).
• Ensures that NIH research staff are aware of federal requirements (USDA, CDC, DOC, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, etc.) for import and export of etiological agents and vectors of human disease and animals or products from endangered or threatened species.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for dealing with the use, handling, and storage of microbiological materials to include pathogenic bacteria, toxins, viruses, and recombinant DNA components.
• Performs periodic and unscheduled inspections of registered laboratories and biological toxins facilities and operations and evaluates compliance with applicable regulations.
• Serves as the Alternate Responsible Official (ARO) for the Select Agent Program and ensures compliance with Federal Select Agent Program requirements codified in 42 CFR Part 73, 7 CFR Part 331, and 9 CFR Part 121.

As a Staff Nurse you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans. • The Section Chief is a leadership position that is responsible for all aspects of primary care delivery within the defined section, and supervision of staff. In conjunction with the Associate Chief and Chief of Primary Care, the Section Chief is responsible for:
