The Nursing Assistant is an integral part of the care team in providing care to veterans at the Providence VA Healthcare System. They are responsible for the delivery of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Advance Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant, or Physician. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performs assigned technical procedures (such as taking and recording BP, temperature , pulse, respiration, pulse oximetry, height, weight, collecting specimens, and administering oxygen using tank and/or wall oxygen, etc);

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in a bio-medical, physical or biological science from an accredited college or University and one-year training and/or experience in the specialty of Flow Cytometry testing.

Essential Functions

Perform assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner.

• Properly handle specimens and independently resolve technical specimen issues in preparation for analysis and specimen storage. Contact internal customers for clarification as needed.
• Ensures maintenance of instruments and equipment is performed according to manufacturer and SOP requirements, and documented according to SOP
• Operate instruments to perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.

Requirements :
