The incumbent performs as a Supervisory Biomedical Engineer for the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program at the Kansas City VAMC, a large, 1b complexity medical center. The Kansas City VAMC has 157 beds and 8 CBOCs serving more than 50,000 veterans. The facility is supported by $47million inventory of medical equipment. HTM Service oversees all medical equipment systems.

Major duties include but not limited to:

Chiropractors are licensed independent providers who work as part of VA interdisciplinary teams including physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pain management, other relevant medical and surgical specialties, and other relevant associated health disciplines. The Chiropractor provides examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of non-operative musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.

Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provides examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of non-operative musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.
• Develops plans, coordinates, evaluates, and integrates all program elements into a comprehensive chiropractic program for the medical center.
• Advisor and consultant to pain management service needs and assists with developing both short and long range continuous improvements.
• Develops and/or updates and implements appropriate policies, procedures, plans, and service agreements that guides and supports the Chiropractic Patient Care Services.

• Exhibits leadership in initiating changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and research study findings.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Supervises all areas of food production and service including food preparation, nourishment, tray delivery and retrieval, making rounds on the patient wards, meeting ward personnel and taking corrective action for any problems that might arise on the floors pertaining to food service. • Responsible for efficient overall sanitation throughout Nutrition and Food Service. • Prepares performance ratings/competencies for all employees under his or her direct supervision. • Works under the immediate supervision of the Cook Supervisor/Team Captain and is accountable for the quantity and quality of the work done.
