We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team within the Community Child Health department.
Our medical team consists of 8 Consultant Paediatricians and we also have Paediatric Speciality Trainees working within the team. We work alongside Nurse Specialists for Children in Care, Autism, Epilepsy and Bladder and Bowel Health. We also work very closely with the Children’s Community Nursing team and allied health professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Dieticians.
This post is full-time. Candidates who wish to work part-time or job share are welcome to apply. Candidates should possess GMC registration with a license to practice at time of application and have previous paid experience of working within the NHS.

This is a fixed term post with the following aims
• Support the current clinical team in delivering regular clinics for Initial Health Assessments (IHA’s) for Children in Care.
• Provide regular clinics for the assessment and management of children referred to the bowel and bladder team, working alongside medical and nursing staff to help meet the increasing demand on the service
• To support the wider work of the community paediatric department, contributing to some developmental assessments, focusing on assessing children referred with different developmental conditions and those in particular who are not likely to require long-term follow-up

Clinical:
• Deliver weekly IHA Clinic
• Deliver weekly Bladder and Bowel Clinic
• Ad-hoc Community Child Development Clinic (CDC)
• Ad-hoc clinics to formulate the medical advice for a Education Health and Care plan (EHCP)
Administrative:
• IHA Clinics and CDC-1:1 administrative time per clinic to format IHA reports and any follow up tasks
• Bladder and Bowel Clinics-1:0.25 administrative time per clinic to dictate and sign clinic letters, follow up investigations and tasks
Research:
• Opportunity for targeted QI project/ audit within Community Paediatrics
Teaching:
• Weekly teaching via Paediatric ‘genspec’ meeting on Tuesday lunchtime which provides opportunity for CPD in general and speciality Paediatrics including contributing to clinical governance
• Opportunity to teach stage 3 medical students community paediatric sessions
• Training will be provided as required via case based discussion and supervision from Consultant Paediatricians within the team
