The Senior Active Travel Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, and implementation of active travel initiatives within our organization. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about promoting active lifestyles and sustainable transportation options.
As the Senior Active Travel Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse portfolio of active travel projects. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of each initiative, while adhering to budgetary and timeline constraints. Additionally, you will oversee a team of project coordinators and actively participate in fundraising efforts.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement strategic plans to increase active travel rates in our community. You will leverage your expertise in transportation planning, infrastructure development, and behavior change strategies to create impactful programs and initiatives. Furthermore, you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of our projects, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a portfolio of active travel projects, ensuring their successful delivery within budgetary and timeline constraints
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop strategic plans and initiatives to increase active travel rates
Oversee a team of project coordinators, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle
Participate in fundraising efforts to secure the necessary resources for project implementation
Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform decision-making and develop evidence-based interventions
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of active travel projects, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Engage with community members and other key stakeholders to raise awareness and support for active travel initiatives
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on active travel or related fields
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within budgetary and timeline constraints
Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles and strategies, particularly in the context of active travel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, and delegate tasks appropriately
Experience in fundraising and securing financial resources for project implementation
Proficient in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office suite
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as urban planning, transportation engineering, or environmental science. Advanced degree preferred.
