A day in the life of a Warehouse Operative

As a Warehouse Operative, you will work as part of a dynamic and supportive team in what can be described as a fast-paced and target driven environment to ensure the stock entering or leaving the depot is accurate.

Our activities vary, so often, you may be required to work across multiple different workstreams such as Goods Inbound checks, Picker Accuracy audits and Load Adherence checks most of which require periods of manual handling.

CMA are working exclusively with a really friendly team who are based in central Basingstoke, Hampshire. They have a requirement for an additional finance person for at least 6 months and potentially longer. They are currently going through a transition in order for the function to be centralised and until this is completed they will require extra resource.

What will the Finance Assistant role involve?

• Processing Purchase ledger invoices.
• Raising small volumes of sales invoices.
• Accruals and pre payments.
• Preparation of management accounts for review.

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Assistant vacancy:

• Previous experience of working in a varied accounts role.
• Experience of preparation of management accounts.
• Willingness to pick up additional duties.
• Strong communication skills.

• 37 hour week which is 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday & 8am to 3.30 on Friday’s.

You will be joining a market leading business in their field and and will be working within their modern Basingstoke office for 3 days per week with the option of the other 2 days working remotely.

Within this role you’ll be supporting the wider business by accurately managing the day to day of the Purchase and Sales ledger.

What will the Accounts Assistant role involve?

• Setting up new supplier forms and maintaining existing clients
• Posting invoices on both sales and purchase ledger
• Issuing monthly customer invoices
• Assisting with monthly finance reports
• Checking bank accounts and running credit checks

Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Assistant vacancy:

• Previous experience within a similar finance role
• AT studier or qualified
• Good Microsoft package knowledge
• Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and willing to learn

Your new company
You will be working for an employer of choice in Portsmouth who are seeking an assistant accountant to join the organisation.
Your new role

• Weekly reconciliation and sales data collation including posting of cash statements
• Work closely with a management team to provide support for any finance related queries and to provide a monthly review of financial performance.
• Own and manage quarterly BAU financial performance meetings with management, challenge performance and provide key action points for follow up based on performance.
• Own and be responsible for the completion and production of the investments to be sent to our investment partners monthly.
• Work closely with the administrators to ensure they provide the correct information for reconciliation by specified dates, in order that the reconciled payment deadlines are met.
• Undertake all other accounting, including accounting for plan deficits and plan excesses.
• Own the monthly Management Accounts Reporting function ensuring that periodic deadlines are met and that output is maintained to high standards. Inclusive of Management Accounts production, variance analysis, margin review and presentation of results to stakeholders.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reconciliation of debtors & Bad Debt Provision creation and posting.
• Credit control, providing evidence for any debts to be written off and liaison with an external debt management company
• Assist the Finance Manager with budget preparation and quarterly re-forecasting.
• Assist Financial Processing Team Manager in reconciliation and resolution of queries
• Shared ownership on the cash management system closed down procedure on a weekly basis & flash sales reporting.

What you'll need to succeed

• You will require full right-to-work in the UK, with prior experience in a similar role.
• Be AAT Qualified or QBE.
• Studying towards ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
• Proficient in the use of excel supported by generally high volumes of IT literacy.
