Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join a dynamic team based in Derby. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of HR-related tasks, including recruitment, on boarding, employee record management, and providing support to employees regarding HR policies and procedures. This position is vital in maintaining a productive and positive working environment.
Main Duties of the Job
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations and administration
- Prepare and manage employee documentation, including contracts, offer letters, and on boarding materials
- Coordinate the recruitment process: posting job adverts, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference and pre-employment checks
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases
- Support the performance management process and employee relations activities
- Attend absence review and performance improvement meetings, and prepare detailed minutes of those meetings
- Administer pre-employment checks, including identification documents, proof of right to work in the UK, online DBS checks, and references

Qualifications:
- Qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- CIPD Level 3
- Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Mathematics
Experience:
- Basic knowledge of HR principles and practices
- Experience of working in NHS or large office-based environment/background
- Desirable: Previous experience as a HR administrator, assistant, or similar role
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office)
Other Requirements:
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS)
- Driver with a clean license and insurance to cover business use
