Operational

• Issue and close out permits for various activities; handle orders for materials and equipment, and coordinate with the project quantity surveyor.
• Oversee provisions, diversions, upgrades, and protection works through meetings with utility companies.
• Apply for necessary permits from the Highways Authority for road openings, skips, and welfare facilities.
• Request temporary water, drainage, and electricity connections from utility companies.
• Manage off-site Highways works through discussions with relevant parties.

Quality

• Identify and report poor-quality work.
• Ensure sub-contractors prepare and complete inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Create and manage snagging lists.

Health & Safety

• Understand and comply with Health and Safety/CDM legislation and responsibilities.
• Serve as the temporary works coordinator, if applicable.
• Ensure labour-only sub-contractors are properly assessed, with method statements and risk assessments in place.

What you'll need to succeed
As well as an SMSTS, First Aid, Fire Marshall and CSCS card (preferably black) you will need:

• Previous construction experience in sectors such as commercial, retail, healthcare, education, refurbishment, or new builds.
• Demonstrated capability to oversee and manage subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with temporary works procedures.
• Competence in working effectively within a team setting.
• Skill in developing short-term programmes.
• Focus on quality, leadership abilities, and proficiency in IT.

Your new role
The role involves managing the group's IT and communications infrastructure, including relationships with key partners. It includes establishing user support processes with third-party partners for hardware, software, and systems issues. Ensuring the correct operation, updates, and backups of internal and cloud-based systems, along with managing user access and security, is crucial. The role also oversees the installation and configuration of IT environments and liaises with third-party suppliers to ensure cost-effective services. Keeping up with technological advancements and recommending improvements to internal systems is essential. Additionally, the role involves managing IT projects, ensuring compliance with IT security policies, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, answering audit queries, and managing the IT budget.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential

• In-person IT user support experience.
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office applications includes. Office 365.
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Entra (Azure) and Purview for security and compliance in the MS365 environment.
• Experience of installing, supporting and administering Windows Server operating systems.

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Power Apps, including Power BI and MS Forms.
• Experience of creating and managing file sharing and data management sites using SharePoint.
• 2+ years' experience managing an IT function (ideally in a multi-site SME).

Retail Team Leader

Salary: £12.89 per hour inclusive of holiday pay (£11.50 per hour + £1.39 holiday pay) + Enhancements

Location: Glasgow

As a Retail Team Leader you will take accountability for managing teams of up to 60 stock counters, delivering the end to end stock taking service while on our client's sites. We require flexible availability, as the shift lengths may vary and you will be travelling to a different client site each day. You may occasionally be expected to stay away from home.

Days: Monday - Sunday (5 in 7 day working shift pattern)

Hours of Work: Evening/Night shifts.

Please note all work will require prolonged periods of standing and some use of step stools and ladders. Some sites are in warehouses or large retail premises where you may be required to access and work with ground and high level stock.

This role will involve working unsociable hours, working early mornings or night shifts, this therefore means we are unable to hire anyone under the age of 18 years.
