Your new role

You'll be working with a range of architects, planners, developers and construction companies. The role is based in NW Leicestershire with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage planning projects with a specific focus on achieving Biodiversity Net Gain.
* Provide expert advice on biodiversity conservation and enhancement strategies to clients.
* Conduct BNG assessments and ecological surveys to identify biodiversity and habitat types on sites and their BNG potential (both offsetting sites and development sites) .
* Develop and implement Biodiversity Net Gain strategies in alignment with relevant legislation, metrics, and best practices
* Build and maintain relationships with Local Planning Authorities, conservation organisations, Wildlife Trusts, and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with surveyors to integrate biodiversity considerations into projects.
* Prepare technical reports for planning submission, condition discharge and Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans.
* Stay updated on emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy.
* Conduct site-based surveys and monitoring across the Midlands and occasionally further afield.

What you'll need to succeed
* Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Ecology, Planning, or a related subject. MSc desirable
* FISC 3 qualification or higher
* Some membership with CIEEM
* Experience in a consultancy environment working on ecology/BNG projects.
* Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation, including national and local policies.
* Proven experience in managing projects focused on Biodiversity Net Gain and working with tools like the Statutory Metric.
* Familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys.
* Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to various audiences.
* Experience in engaging with government bodies and local authorities.
* Proficiency in planning software such as GIS and ecological modelling tools, alongside Microsoft Office Suite.
* Full UK Driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.

The role

The IT Test Manager has the responsibility to lead all testing activity for IT Projects. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the testing strategy. You will define, drive and manage the test delivery within the project, agreeing and assuring third-party testing as necessary. • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including quality gates.
• Reporting: Provide regular status reports on testing progress, issues, and test coverage to project stakeholders. Deliver detailed end-of-phase reports and final test-completion reports for business sign-off.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate testing risks via a risk log, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively.
• Third-party testing. Review and agree all key test artefacts including strategy, plan, test evidence to assure third-party delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies, staying in line with industry best practices.

Skills & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience as a Test Manager, Test Lead, or a similar role, preferably in the IT industry
• Proficient in various testing tools and methods, such as ISTQB, ISEB, PMP, QAI, 9001, ISO, HP, CAPM, SILK, or ALM
• Strong knowledge of test management processes, design techniques, and best practices
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail, quality-oriented, and customer-focused
• Significant experience ( >3 years) assuring third-party suppliers.
• Experience and expertise in both risk management and risk-based testing.
• Experience managing both automation and load/performance test tools/teams.
• Experience leading a team through the complete SDLC.
• Experienced facilitator of meetings, workshops and test forums.
• Experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, agile certification preferred.
• Project management experience and qualification (PMP, PRINCE2)

Your new role You will support the review of the council's property assets, across both operational and commercial portfolios. This means, that you'll be able to use your expertise to provide the council with a better understanding of the use of buildings, recommending options for investment, disposal, and also income generation!

This role will allow you to devise, support, and manage a reconfiguration of ow the services occupy the property assets, taking a holistic view to improve service provision and enable the release of buildings and parcels of land where appropriate.

You will help to support the delivery of asset management to the council's property assets, assisting with a commercial approach to the estate through actioning rent reviews and lease renewals.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in commercial property asset management, confident in making recommendations regarding the portfolio.
• Experience of policy writing and delivery of asset management strategies.
• Experience in acquisitions and disposals of significant property interests.
• Good knowledge of landlord and tenant estate management law.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a 24-month salaried contract, which is an initial time period with high possibility of further extension or progression into a permanent role. You will receive a salary of £56,721 per year + £689 London weighting taking your salary to £57,410 per year. In addition, you will be able to enrol into the local government pension scheme, generous annual leave, and you'll be able to work flexibly on a hybrid basis across the duration of your role.
