Job Title: Right to Buy Officer
Location: Doncaster (Office-based)
Duration: Full-time 8-week placement (potential for extension)
Days of Work: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay Rate: £14.17 per hour
Job Description:
As a Right to Buy Officer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Right to Buy applications and enquiries. Your role will involve dealing with incoming calls and correspondence, providing advice to customers, conducting interviews, processing applications, and coordinating with various departments and stakeholders to ensure the smooth progress of cases. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls and correspondence related to Right to Buy applications and enquiries
- Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to customers throughout the Right to Buy process
- Conduct telephone and face-to-face interviews, including occasional home visits
- Process applications in line with Right to Buy legislation and internal policies
- Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to progress applications
- Manage workload efficiently and resolve complex issues with applications
- Ensure accurate calculations in valuation, cost floor, and Right to Buy offer
- Maintain manual and computerised files and records in compliance with GDPR
- Update service information and customer fact sheets as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organisational skills
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Knowledge of IT systems
- Experience dealing with customers over the phone and in writing
- Ability to collect detailed and sensitive information from customers
- NVQ Level 2 in business administration and Customer Care or equivalent, or 3 GCSE passes grade A* to C
