Food Technology Teacher Required for Manchester-Based Secondary School

Location: Greater Manchester

Start Date: September 2024

Duration: Fixed term one year, with the potential of a permanent contract

Role Overview

As a Technical/QA Assistant, you will play a vital role in the Technical Department, ensuring the site's technical services are maintained and developed. You will monitor factory quality and food safety systems, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards at each stage of the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain food safety system policies and procedures
• Conduct HACCP studies
• Manage document control
• Coordinate internal audits, distribute results, and ensure completion of corrective actions
• Collect micro-samples as scheduled
• Ensure traceability
• Investigate complaints
• Perform daily audits of Critical Control Points (CCPs)
• Conduct daily label checks
• Handle calibration tasks
• Audit processing records
• Conduct GMP/fabric audits
• Perform temperature checks
• Carry out quality checks

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years in a technical role, with at least 1 year in the food or meat industry
• Experience with BRC audits
