Technical Support Specialist (& Trainee Technical Support Specialist) required.

This is a hybrid role, which also requires extensive travel overseas (including India, USA and Europe), and one week per month in East Kent. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. £30,000 to £40,000 per annum, dependant on experience, plus a car allowance, with benefits to include:

As part of the Technical Support team, you will be responsible for the testing and validation of inkjet products and systems performance, including hardware, software and ink. You will undergo training, working alongside the current specialists in order to gain expert knowledge around the functions and capability of all equipment in the range.
In this role you will need a flexible approach and will develop relationships with our client and its suppliers in order to achieve excellent product knowledge. You will deliver timely support professionally and in accordance with service level agreements, research new technologies to develop procedures and training materials to assist product training activity, and be involved in the installation team installing new machines. You will also complete validations on new equipment and ink ranges, respond to requests for print samples, investigate and report failure mode cause and effect, and support the department as needed in special projects.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of digital print operation, or experience in wide format inkjet printing technology and applications. Also a desire to learn, be a problem-solver, self-motivated and well organised with first class communication skills, plus:
- Degree level qualification or similar, preferably in an engineering or scientific discipline
- Ideally field-based technical support experience on R2R wide format inkjet equipment
- A positive proactive approach to work in order to make effective and timely decisions
- Ability to communicate technology issues clearly to Manager and the team, with awareness of priorities and determination to deliver results on time.
- Engineering know-how of WFIJ principles and
- Competent on Mac or PC, with a good comprehension of the OS, Microsoft products.
- Be able to interact with equipment manufacturers, preferably at product design stage through to

- Highly organised and detailed, with critical attention to detail and documentation.
