As we deliver The Plan for North Lanarkshire and drive transformational change, it is vital that we have effective ongoing systems in place to control, manage and deliver our services to the highest standards of performance, ethics and Best Value. The Council’s Chief Officer (Finance and Technology) role encompasses a critical portfolio of strategic responsibilities, business services and supports that includes acting as key advisor to the Chief Executive and the Council as the Section 95 Officer.
The revised role has an enhanced remit which now includes setting the Council’s core financial strategy; managing the Council’s revenue and capital budgets; delivering robust financial services, including revenues and benefits, as well as overall responsibility for the delivery of the Council’s Digital and IT strategy and its supporting programme of digital and technological transformation to drive further savings and efficiencies, aligning to the full realisation of the Council’s desired future operating model.
While delivering considerable change and improvement, we continue working with partners in addressing the significant challenges faced in improving outcomes for the people and communities of North Lanarkshire.
