Job description

The role of CNC Programmer, setter operator will include the following duties:

⦁ Programming/ Set & operate 3 / 4 axis Milling machines with Fanuc controls.
⦁ Producing precision parts to within the specified tolerances
⦁ First Principal Inspection using measuring technique (Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Height Gauges etc.)
⦁ Competency in interpreting engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
⦁ Experience with working on small / medium / large parts
⦁ Work to meet schedule adherence
⦁ Experience of understanding of working to ISO9001 standards and to Quality Management Systems (QMS).
⦁ The above list of tasks is not exhaustive, and the CNC Miller may be required to undertake duties as may be reasonably expected. All employees are required to be flexible and co-operative in order to assist in meeting business needs.

⦁ Have a minimum of 3 Years CNC Milling experience with Fanuc controls
⦁ HAAS / Hartford / Doosan knowledge Preferable
⦁ CAD/CAM Programming desirable but not essential

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in welding process optimisation with experience using robotic systems.

You will join at a Technical Lead and help grow our applied research capability. You will be working in our new state-of-the art facility at Samlesbury, Lancashire, in a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

This role will be based in the area of Automation and Battery Manufacturing within the AMRC Northwest facility, you will take responsibility for all robotic welding elements of a variety of research and development projects. An important aspect of the role will be to steer the technical direction of the team whilst ensuring current projects are delivered successfully.

You will:
• Be educated to degree level (or equivalent industrial experience).
• Have a proven track record of technical delivery when leading development projects.
• Have a substantive knowledge of welding process optimisation with robotic systems.
