Job Description:
Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing database performance, space utilization, and overall health. The DBA will ensure efficient operation, implement automation where possible, and collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. The role also includes overseeing backup and recovery plans, managing user accounts, and performing regular database maintenance and disaster recovery tests.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and monitor database storage, space utilization, table extents, and growth, alerting the team to potential capacity or performance bottlenecks, and providing recommendations.
· Setup and manage user accounts, access rights, privileges, roles, and profiles.
· Plan and perform database backup and recovery.
· Review daily logs, database alerts, database export logs, and scheduled job logs.
· Plan and perform regular database housekeeping and maintenance to maintain optimal performance.
· Manage scripts and database object deployment.
· Review, propose, and execute database reorganization, upgrades, and improvements for better throughput and performance.
· Perform fault and performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
· Manage database patching and ensure all systems are up to date.
· Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve database-related issues.
· Document and maintain comprehensive database server administration guides and SOPs.
· Conduct annual disaster recovery tests for selected databases.
· Perform yearly backup and restore exercises to validate the integrity of long-term backups.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in MS SQL database administration.
· Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA): SQL Database Administration certification.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in Oracle Database administration.
· Experience with Azure and AWS RDS databases.
· Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) certification
