HRO/SR RN and will focus on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction in quality of care outcomes. They participate in the exploration of outcomes within the department. The HRO/SR RN is responsible for their assigned administrative area activities for the Medical Center and off-site locations if applicable. The HRO/SR RN collects data, monitors staff compliance with relevant policies, directives, and standards, provides reports detailing trends, and provides direct staff support to the service. The HRO/SR RN participates in a number of facility councils, committees, and workgroups. This HRO/SR RN RN brings principals and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
This individual facilitates, implements, and evaluates clinical/process outcomes with an emphasis on clinical/nursing related direct provision of care and effective clinical/administrative system processes. He/she combines professional experience, personal study, creative communication skills and sound clinical expertise in developing and enhancing the facilities clinical processes in various specialty areas such as, but not limited to: acute medical/surgical care; cardiology; family health; oncology; critical care; interventional; and mental health environments. Collaboratively works with the professional clinical staff and provides process improvement consultation and systems redesign facilitation.
The HRO/SR RN assumes the role in the oversight of clinical improvement processes used by nursing or in the provision of patient care. The incumbent will provide vision, establish strategic goals, and directly impact the development of facilitys' high reliability concepts and principles to ensure zero harm.
- Plan and create processes with staff which promote health and safety.
- Develops teaching plans based on assessment of clinical needs.
- Role models the nurse as a professional who maintains a high standard of practice in impacting direct care process for patients with complex needs.
- Participates in interdisciplinary process development to ensure safe care processes in place. 5. Mutually with professional colleagues, monitors the patient outcomes and makes needed revisions to care processes in place.
- Demonstrate working practices that include adherence to Infection Control Standards and the safe use and operation of equipment.
- Serves as a consultant throughout the Medical Center for clinical care problems related to zero harm and clinical processes.
- Attends in-services and continuing education activities and continued progression in knowledge and skills in medicine/surgical care nursing practice.
- Participates in continuing quality improvements, having membership to various committees in accordance to committee governance per facility guidelines.
