My client is seeking a Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join their forward-thinking team in Tunbridge Wells. The firm are a well-recognised Top Tier firm in the South East with multiple offices across Kent. They continue to be recognised and awarded for their legal excellence in both Chambers and Legal 500 across various departments, as well as lawyers being ranked for their outstanding reputation and high-quality service provided.
They offer a wide range of legal services for both businesses and private clients and they pride themselves providing high quality legal advice to their long-standing client relationships they have established over centuries.
The role encompasses a diverse range of commercial litigation cases, including breach of contract claims, intellectual property disputes, director and shareholder conflicts, partnership disagreements, reputation management, regulatory issues and professional negligence claims. Additionally, it involves handing construction disputes, including adjudication work, and specialising in international litigation and arbitration, particularly in trade, shipping, and logistics, with a strong focus on commodities and insurance conflicts. Their team, located outside of London, possesses the expertise to handle substantial international cases of this nature, which is a rare capability.
You will have the opportunity to work independently on some cases under appropriate supervision and collaborate as part of a team on larger matters. You'll receive necessary training on the team's more complex legal aspects and learn the practices and procedures related to commercial legal processes like arbitrations. This role will also expose you to a case management and client relationship development.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 4 years of experience within commercial litigation.
- Have commercial and financial awareness with an ability to listen well to clients and colleagues.
- Be able to communicate to a high standard written and orally.
- Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Be commercially aware and have an understanding of the regional market, its challenges and opportunities.
