We are looking for a Security Officer for our North Star and Queens Drive campuses each, working full time during term time.
In this role, your primary goal will be the identification and prevention of situations that may put students, staff, visitors or facilities at risk. You will promote positive attitudes of student responsbility and ensure the security of the Estate and equipment. You will help prevent theft and damage and deal with emergency situations. You will need to have good physical fitness to remain active throughout the day and while patrolling the site.
To apply for this role, you will need to have good customer service skills, suitability to work in an environment with minors and vulnerable adults, exceptional communications skills and ability to deal with difficult people and situations in a calm and professional manner. You will need to be an excellent team member. Experience in Security is not essential for this role, but you will be provided with full training and assistance from the existing team.

1. In the absence of the DATIX coordinator to Input all accident and incident data on the system and manageappropriately.2. Take minutes at meetings, transcribe, and distribute minutes and agendas to attendees at any meetings required to by the Admin Manager.3. To lead on the health and safety training bookings and Administration to ensure an effective process is in place to support staff when booking onto a course.4. To support with the planning and running of the annual health and safety audit5. To undertake DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessments and support the Safety officer if required to support staff in the organisation.6. Provide statistics on accident and incident data throughout the Trust as required.

Job Responsibilities include: Needs Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify and prioritise public health challenges related to healthy weight and physical activity. Develop and implement strategies to address these needs. Evidence-Based Decision Making: Utilise data and evidence to inform decision-making and programme development. Partnership Development: Foster collaborative relationships with local partners, healthcare providers, and community organisations to advance healthy weight and physical activity initiatives. Programme Design: Develop and implement innovative programmes and interventions that promote healthy weight and physical activity. Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously evaluate programme effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to optimise outcomes. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with programme implementation. Service Procurement: Commission services and contracts related to healthy weight and physical activity, ensuring they align with strategic goals and quality standards. Contract Management: Oversee contract performance, monitor outcomes, and manage relationships with service providers. Mentorship and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering their professional development. Collaboration: Promote teamwork and collaboration within the Public Health team and with external partners. Knowledge Sharing: Disseminate information and resources related to healthy weight and physical activity to relevant stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with community members, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for healthy weight and physical activity initiatives. Communication: Effectively communicate public health messages and information to diverse audiences. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest research, evidence, and best practices in public health, particularly related to healthy weight and physical activity.

Identify, gather, collate, analyse, and interpret health related data applicable to public health issues using appropriate statistical methods. This includes communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to obtain a variety of complex datasets. Lead on the identification of public health needs using various methodologies such as health needs assessment, health equity audits, reviews and evaluations of programmes and/or interventions directed at areas of responsibility. Provide specialist health intelligence input to public health, the Council and NHS in monitoring the health needs of the population and in strategic planning to meet those needs including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. Support the work of the Director of Public Health and Public Health Directorate in ensuring that health intelligence, evidence and good practice are incorporated into commissioning and service evaluation processes in Swindon. Develop wider public health capacity by communicating and promoting health improvement messages through presentations, evidence-based practice, audits and published research and providing specialised advice and knowledge through the development of and participation in training programmes, workshops, conferences and seminars. Produce, develop and maintain information systems and analytical expertise for key staff and services/directorates to fulfil their functions in terms of public health information, health surveillance and data acquisition. The post holder will be responsible for leading the strategic direction across areas of designated responsibility and will provide an advanced specialist public health approach with minimal supervision to reflect both national and local priorities with the emphasis on prevention and reducing health inequalities. The public health principal may be expected to be able to work across any topic area covered under the domains of public health. The public health principal may have a professional area of interest in regard to the public health agenda, however may be expected to be able to work across the life course and cover agenda areas including: sexual health, maternal and child health improvement, adult health improvement, obesity and weight management, smoking cessation and tobacco control, substance misuse, mental health, public health campaign work, screening and immunisation uptake, providing the best start in life and supporting the healthy aging agenda.

Our client in Swindon is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of a Security Manager. This position requires someone with a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.

We are recruiting for a Security Manager to be based at Swindon for our prestigious client.

Rate of Pay:

£175 - £195 per day, Monday to Friday 12 hour shifts

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of security guards/resources on a day to day basis to uphold the safety and security of our clients premises based on a construction site.
• Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures to safeguard personnel, assets, and property.
• Liaising with the client about security matters, security issues, security strategy, incident management and provide relevant reporting.
• Conduct adhoc patrols and inspections to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
• Monitor CCTV systems to detect and deter unauthorized activity.
• To maintain first point of contact for Nexus (Fortel) for all security related events on the client site.
• Manage and conduct security risk assessments.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and conduct thorough investigations as required.
• Provide training and mentorship to security staff to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of security-related activities and incidents.
• Adherence to site specific security rules in line with the customer requirements.
• Respectable knowledge of IT is also crucial.
• We may require you to work a varied shift pattern, therefore you will be required to have a flexible approach to the work offered.
• Your own transport will be required to fulfil this role.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supervising security guards is essential.
• Working hours - Monday to Friday over 12 hour shifts.
• Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• Proficiency in operating and managing CCTV systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Successful candidate must undergo and clear a Security Check (BS7858).

Preferred Qualifications:

• SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
