This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), you will function as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and perform the duties and responsibilities assigned to Federal Air Marshals.

The position is located in the Field Operations Branch, Training Center, Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (LE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The LE/FAMS promotes public confidence in our Nation's civil transportation systems through effective risk-based strategic deployment of Federal Air Marshals (FAMs) and other LE/FAMS law enforcement resources in both air-and land-based mission assignments aboard U.S. air carriers, and in airports and other transportation modes within the Nation's general transportation systems. As the Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC), you will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Serving as the Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) of the TSA Training Center located in Atlantic City, NJ.
• Providing senior level leadership and guidance to a workforce consisting of Federal Air Marshals, other TSA employees, and other federal, state and local law enforcement stakeholders and program participants.
• Serving as a primary advisor and authoritative consultant to the LE/FAMS Director and Executive Staff on ongoing training requirements and methods to improve security in the transportation domain.
• Providing senior level leadership, directing the work subordinate managers and performing a wide range of managerial duties including the planning, direction, and coordination for day-to-day operations of the TSA Training Center program and training center operations. Programs managed include curriculum development, training delivery methodology, curriculum review/revision, training safety, records maintenance, instructor qualification/certification, general academy administration, training technology, and certification standards.
• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with multiple law enforcement organizations at all levels in support of law enforcement programs/teams within those organizations.

As a General Engineer/ Physical Scientist (Nuclear Safety Specialist) you will:

• Lead safety planning, organization, and DOE/NNSA regulatory compliance review.

• Resolve emerging operational safety issues preventing long-term facility and program adverse safety impact.

• Plan, direct, execute, and manage NEST programs, including development of procedures, policies, plans, and any other applicable requirements. Implement NEST standards, regulations, best practices, training, and procedures.
• Provide expert advice on complex NEST readiness requirements, and serve as spokesperson at regional and nationwide meetings, committees and working groups to propose, defend and/or analyze NEST performance criteria.

As a Financial Management Specialist, typical work assignments may include:

This Lead Transportation Security Officer position is located at Albany International Airport (ALB), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO), you will be responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. As an LTSO, you will identify, distribute, and balance workloads and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill level. You will make adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing input to supervisors and managers concerning a variety of human resources matters including, but not limited to, employee performance, promotions, reassignments, awards, etc.
• Implementing security screening procedures in accordance with TSA objectives and directives.
• Assisting with investigations of incidents, and preparing incident reports or other documents that convey required information.
• Responding to breaches of security and emergency situations.
