DBS DIT provides digital capability that supports corporate services across the Ministry of Defence, including Finance, Commercial, Payroll and Human Resources for Military Personnel, Civilian Personnel and Veterans.

Cyber Security Assessors are responsible for independent assessment of Delivery Teams’ adherence to Secure by Design and relevant risk and security policies and standards. They coordinate between Delivery Teams dealing with similar security challenges to optimise solutions and minimise duplication of effort. As Cyber security Assessor within the DBS Cyber Team you will manage all day to day IT Security and System Information Assurance, and, applying Secure by Design, ensure that security is embedded in all stages of the application development life cycle, and that there is continuous monitoring through use. You will also advise on and test the efficacy of measures to build security into continuous integration and deployment with specific responsibilities for the day to day IT security for multiple Military and Civilian HR systems and Finance systems.

The role will require you to demonstrate a talent for solving complex problems and for effective communication at all levels. You will be able to advise on complex risk balance decisions, propose innovative solutions and to explain MOD’s security policy, governance and technology controls to non-IT/security experts. Senior Responsible Owners and Project Leads will rely on your expertise to ensure they have an accurate understanding of through-life cyber security risks, so they can make informed decisions. The Key Responsibilities are:

• Lead the embedment of Secure by Design (SbD) principles into application development by providing advice and internal consultancy on highly complex criteria and contexts for multiple systems.
• Manage system accreditation transition to SbD
• Lead multi-team assessment of application resilience throughout the DBS IT estate, reviewing regular application security reports, holding accountability and responsibility for secure design implementation;

PSD sets security strategy provides expert advice and delivers an operational service. The Role

PSD are looking to appoint two Security Support Assistants within the award-winning Members' Security Support Service (MSSS).

A high level of confidentiality and sensitivity is required in respect of security matters and related discussions. The post holders will ideally have an understanding of security measures, although training will be given.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Act as a key point of liaison for Members and their staff to raise queries and concerns regarding the recommended security measures process.
• Support House security events by representing MSSS; ensuring that Members and their staff are aware of the support that our team and measures can offer.
• Monitor and log security information and specifications from the security contractor to ensure that all required paperwork is completed correctly and log financial information from specifications accurately into the MSSS register/records.

Introduction

The Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) is responsible for physical and personnel security across both Houses of Parliament and provides support to Members and staff when away from the Estate. Its purpose is to keep Parliament safe and open for business. PSD sets security strategy provides expert advice and delivers an operational service.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter with extensive experience in security and a strong track record of leading service delivery in a complex operating environment. You will work closely with the Head of Security Operational Resilience to provide assurance to the Deputy Director - Security and Fire Operations and the Director of Security for Parliament regarding the integrity of the operational security protocols and controls designed to maintain the security of the parliamentary estate.

The Head of Security and Fire Operations oversees the day-to-day operational management of the parliamentary uniformed security workforce, working closely with partners and stakeholders across Parliament and externally, including the National Protective Security Agency (NPSA) and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). You will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the security guarding and fire protection operations on the Parliamentary Estate. You will also be the operational point of contact with the MPS and London Fire Brigade, ensuring that appropriate operational security is in place to mitigate threat, in line with Parliament's risk appetite.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Oversee the day-to-day management of PSD Operations and Fire Protection Team.
• Deputise for the Deputy Director Security and Fire Operations on all operational security and fire protection related issues; and provide support in reporting to Boards and committees by drafting and presenting papers as required.
• Advise the Head of Security Operational Resilience on the training needs and resource requirements of security and fire officer functional roles, providing ongoing feedback based on incident debriefs and investigation as part of a cycle of continuous improvement.
• Represent PSD Operations at key stakeholder meetings including the Speaker's Conference.
