It's an exciting time to join Capita and we've got a great opportunity for a qualified UK lawyer to join our Legal team in our Group Functions and Capita Technology Software Solutions (TSS) as a Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be involved in supplier-based activity. We are looking for someone with strong commercial contracts experience. Ideally you will have some in-house experience and experience working on supplier contracts. Experience of technology contracts would be an advantage.
You will be a trusted legal business partner who builds good relationships with key stakeholders and works independently but as part of a team. You will have excellent communication and drafting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Supporting Legal Directors Legal and Senior Legal Counsel (SLC) on all projects and transactions and briefing them on areas of concern to ensure a "no surprises" culture
• Providing strong commercial contracts experience across supplier based activities
• Identifying where judicious decisions are needed on key decision points in contract or dispute negotiations, with escalations to relevant individuals where appropriate.
• Drafting contracts, amendments to contracts, legal correspondence and advice notes
• Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders and presenting at those meetings
• Managing personal continuous professional development, sharing know-how with the wider legal team and assisting with development and dissemination of legal training as required.
• Assisting with internal reporting and ad-hoc projects.
What we're looking for:
• A Qualified UK lawyer with experience in supplier-based activity working across Group Functions and technology contracts
• In-house experience
• Sound legal, commercial, business and negotiating acumen with strong technical legal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Articulate and numerate drafting.
• Attention to detail.
• Highly responsive, proactive, solution-oriented attitude to resolving business issues.
• Professional and personal integrity.
• Project management and prioritisation skills. Able to work without supervision.
• Collaborative and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
