They currently have an established enforcement team who help to deal with highway inspections, environmental issues and enforce the highway act where required.

Your new role
This role will involve supporting a wider team in order to deliver projects efficiently. Main duties will vary depending on experience, but they could involve:

• Supporting partnerships with agencies and communities.
• Ensuring services and activities are relieved efficiently
• Protecting and managing council information securely
• Dealing with customer enquiries and enforcement issues
• Carrying out inspections of public highways in accordance with local arrangements
• Record surveys and risk assessments
• Provide advice regarding the Highways Act and Environmental Protection Act
• Must ensure compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
• Highlight areas of road deterioration

What you'll need to succeed

• Good standard of education, including English and Mathematics at GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent).
• Highways Inspector accreditation or equivalent
• Traffic Management Qualification (12D T7)
• NRSWA Act 1990 Supervisor
• Ability to use ICT systems efficiently
• Good communication skills
• Ability to stay focused during challenging circumstances
• Full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
• A commitment to understanding equal opportunities

Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

Main Duties

Operations

-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Senior Management team and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and SOPs.

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions and SOPs, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

-Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

-Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.

-Patrolling duties when required.

-Escorting of VIP guests when required.

-Able to conduct and complete a recce for any future visitation to the client's site.

-Responding to fire alarm activation when required.

-Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

-Vetting of visitors/guests before accessing the BBC Building

-Adhering to the X-Ray/Search procedures as prescribed by the Response Team Leader

-Access control (Access and Egress of staff, contractors and visitors/contributors)

-Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from visitor/members of public.

-To respond to all incidents and follow escalation procedures

-Attendance of first aid incidents/any other form of incidents as required.

-Ensuring company dress code is up to a high standard at all times

-Ability to deliver a clear and concise incident report.

-To have a thorough knowledge of routine and emergency procedures and be able to respond efficiently, and appropriately, to any eventuality

-Ensuring Time Keeping and attendance is of high standard (Officer is expected to be in full uniform with licences fifteen minutes before the start of the shift)

-To be aware of Hostile Reconnaissance techniques that may be employed against the client's building/s or occupants therein and to be vigilant at all times.

-Operate a safe working environment in line with company risk assessments and assignment instructions

-Ensuring incident are reported on a timely and accurate manner

-Maintain all required records as directed by line management to ensure that full transparency of events and their handling is possible

-Officers are expected to perform and conduct themselves, in line with company policies and procedures

-Obtain assistance by sounding alarms/Radio communication

-Collaboratively working with colleagues to ensure delivery of service expectations of the client.

-Keeping yourself informed of best practice for Security industry

-Effective communication with the Team Leader and the Senior Management Team

-Mobility - May be required to work at various client sites within the M25 region.

-Any other security duties directed by the business or client that falls within your level of training and licensing

-Any other reasonable request from the management team.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.

-Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
