They currently have an established enforcement team who help to deal with highway inspections, environmental issues and enforce the highway act where required.

Your new role
This role will involve supporting a wider team in order to deliver projects efficiently. Main duties will vary depending on experience, but they could involve:

• Supporting partnerships with agencies and communities.
• Ensuring services and activities are relieved efficiently
• Protecting and managing council information securely
• Dealing with customer enquiries and enforcement issues
• Carrying out inspections of public highways in accordance with local arrangements
• Record surveys and risk assessments
• Provide advice regarding the Highways Act and Environmental Protection Act
• Must ensure compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
• Highlight areas of road deterioration

What you'll need to succeed

• Good standard of education, including English and Mathematics at GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent).
• Highways Inspector accreditation or equivalent
• Traffic Management Qualification (12D T7)
• NRSWA Act 1990 Supervisor
• Ability to use ICT systems efficiently
• Good communication skills
• Ability to stay focused during challenging circumstances
• Full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
• A commitment to understanding equal opportunities

You will be joining an established structural and civil engineering practice based in Leicester. Your new role
As Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Performing technical and feasibility studies
• Carrying out environmental impact assessments and identifying potential risks to project delivery
• Utilising AutoCAD to develop detailed project blueprints
• Collaborating with architects, engineers and clients
• Determining construction costs, local and professional building regulations, environmental impacts and other factors that can affect project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have:

• BEng Civil Engineering degree (or other relevant discipline)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Good understanding of project site health and safety protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The role will require the following:

Some patrolling of common areas. Interacting with tenants and contractors, and emergency services. Monitoring the building on CCTV, maintaining Daily Log Books; assisting tenants, contractors & Centre Management when requested; monitoring building operations and equipment - reporting any issues to Centre Management. Providing access to deliveries and maintaining vehicle logs. Dealing with all incidents in a calm, professional manner.

The shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday 19:15 - 07:15.

36 hours per week - regular overtime available.

The successful applicant will have experience of working within a supervisory role and will be based both indoors and outdoors throughout the academic year. Will either hold or be willing to work towards achieving a First Aid at Work qualification and be able to work in a calm and professional manner, using their own initiative and without requiring direct supervision.
