• Utilizes a variety of investigative techniques such as interviews or fact-finding conferences, and a variety of instruments such as requests for information, position statements, exchange of letters or memoranda, interrogatories, and affidavits to investigate alleged violations of Federal equal employment opportunity laws;
• Requests documentary evidence and interview witnesses and responsible management officials (RMOs) to obtain their testimony about the claims;
• Prepares affidavits tailored to the appropriate model of proof for review and signature by these witnesses and RMOs; AND
• Uses evidence obtained during the investigation to write and organize the Report of Investigation (ROI), as well as to prepare an investigative summary which summarizes the ROI.

Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) provide assistance to beneficiaries and the general public in person, by telephone, or in writing. CSRs conduct interviews to determine the nature of the caller's question or issue; explain technical information, gather facts, evaluate evidence, and take action to resolve problems relating to all Social Security programs.

Once selected for the Customer Service Representative position in SSA, you will contribute to the Agency's mission through direct service to the public. As the first point of contact, you are responsible for assisting beneficiaries or inquirers in person, by telephone or in writing to provide information on SSA laws, rules and regulations and Medicare Insurance Programs. This includes obtaining information in order to determine eligibility and entitlement for programs administered by SSA, and using automation tools to access and update information about claims or potential eligibility.

Claims Specialists conduct interviews with the public to obtain, clarify, and verify information about initial and continuing eligibility for retirement, survivors, disability, health insurance benefits, and eligibility for supplemental security income including State supplements. In addition, they resolve discrepancies, clarify issues and make final decisions for initial and post-entitlement for benefits and payments; adjudicate and authorize entitlement or disallowance actions at all levels of difficulty and complexity under programs administered by SSA.

• As a Senior Civil Engineer (Structural) within the PD-MCX, you will Plan, schedule, organize, direct, coordinate, and perform complex structural designs and technical studies to include:
• Conventional Facility Design; Computerized Analysis and Design; Surface and Shallow Buried Hardened Facilities; Deep Underground Facilities; Statistical Design Methods; and developing protective design criteria.
• Direct nuclear and conventional weapons effects and threat analysis (airblast, airblast and direct-induced ground shock, cratering phenomena, ejects, debris and dust, radiation, and firestorm, and projectile penetration)
• Direct, coordinate, and review structural design work and technical studies contracted to Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms and research organizations.
• Brief the highest levels of Army staff elements on PD-MCX programs that have Army-wide application for the purposes of coordination and facilitation of program execution.
• Define the scope-of-work to be performed based on engineering knowledge, judgment, and sponsor requirements.

At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

1. Supervise and manage a comprehensive audit program to ensure compliance with the statutory requirements of SMCRA.
2. Develope and provide objectives and techniques necessary to carry out the mission of the audit function, exercising technical and administrative direction.

As a Legal Administrative Analyst, you will:

• Be responsible for coordinating and collecting data to determine the method used to identify the impact of the data on the Judgment Fund work processes.
• Research, analyze and document all data relevant to the complex Judgment Fund processes. This documentation provides the necessary data used in the publishing of revised Treasury Financial Manual regulations.
• Analyze cases for irregularities and determine right of entitlement in accordance with established procedures. Must be able to take the initiative in the development of new procedures in complex cases.
• Analyze all cases for the Judgment Fund for amounts from $10.00 to more than $1billion, at each step in the payment certification process to determine the proper course of action.

• Performs pre-award and post-award functions involving highly specialized procurements of significant importance to the agency. Requirements typically involve systems or programs such as those involving research, development and production of extensive, specialized equipment or systems; state-of-the-art Information technology products, equipment and/or services impacting customers throughout the nation and/or world; or similarly complex commodities and/or services integral to national defense or security.
• Performs procurement planning. Identifies those large-scale systems, components, equipment, and services to be acquired by contract. Develops procurement objectives and strategies in terms of competition and price range and constructs the contractual vehicle including use of pricing arrangements, subcontracting policy, set-aside policies and similar considerations. Prepares and maintains current acquisition plans, appropriate milestone charts, and related schedules.
• Serves as an advisor to program officials in procurement planning meetings, identifying the procurement objectives and methodologies to be used and assists in the preparation of statements of work and acquisition plans. Prepares determinations and findings and solicitation documents. Performs detailed analyses of all elements of cost in contractor proposals and makes competitive range determinations. Conducts pre-proposal conferences with prospective contractors to arrive at a clear understanding of what is required under the proposed contract. Obtains appropriate data from business and technical officials. Issues necessary modifications to clarify questions concerning such topics as specification changes, language ambiguities or clarification of contract clauses. As required by the lack of meaningful cost and price information, incumbent explores new or innovative contracting approaches to arrive at an equitable contractual arrangement.
• Plans a comprehensive negotiation strategy, coordinates strategy with others technical experts involved and leads negotiations which are conducted with contractors to develop the contract prices and terms. Awards the contract. Performs contract administration, including incremental funding, preparation of rate and cost adjustments, redirection of effort, coordination of time extensions, incorporation of change orders, issuance of stop work orders, issuance of cure notices or show cause letters, monitoring of Government property reporting, approval of progress payments, final payment and contract close out. Terminates contracts for the convenience of the Government or default by the contractor.

The Office of Acquisition Information Technology Services provides transformational system development, incremental system development, operational and management services for Federal Acquisition Services (FAS) business applications. As a Legal Administrative Specialist (Customer Service Risk Analyst), you will:

• Monitor securities programs to reduce the incidence of fraudulent activity. The employee will place a hold on an account if potential risk is identified. Once the employee determines the account is legitimate, the hold is released allowing the transaction to be processed. The employee ensures that completed work is compliant with accepted Automated Clearing House (ACH) policies and Treasury securities regulations.
• Gather risk-related data from internal or external sources to analyze, resolve, and reconcile accounting records and questions related to online sales of securities. The data is used to correct fraudulent transactions and ensure accuracy of customer accounts in automated systems. The employee completes documentation to write off debts or letters to initiate debt collection.
• Document and ensure communication with management regarding key risks associated with improper or fraudulent securities programs transactions. Information analyzed by the employee results in suggestions and solutions to management on improving the safekeeping of securities programs and trends affecting the program and/or users. Depending on the severity of the risk, consistent communication with upper managerial levels is maintained.
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of logs and records of information used to monitor fraudulent activity. The data is obtained by detecting irregularities in securities programs. The employee uses the information to propose further investigation if fraud is suspected or to provide testimony if called as a witness.
• Develop and implement new procedural methods and practices or system on ways to control or reduce risk. Recommendations are used to close loopholes that may permit fraudulent activity and in preparing functional descriptions of system requirements. Advice is provided on how to manually correct encountered issues. The employee keeps current on online security measures, tendencies, and fraud, which leads to the development of new or updated procedures.
