The main purpose of the role is to perform analysis for the Public Health team. The team need to be made aware of many national data publications and the analyst will produce briefings on many of these publications. Undertake research, analysis, and interpretation of complex data on a regular basis. Analysis and research may include hypothesis development, statistical tests, primary research, GIS mapping and report writing. Datasets often need to be joined to add value and records may need to be cleansed and anonymized. Lead on analytical projects to identify the health needs of our population such as those involved with the Health and Wellbeing JSNA, School Health survey, and Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. The range of duties expected of the postholder include: Taking responsibility for a range of public health issues and work across organisational and professional boundaries acting as a change agent managing complexity, ensuring prevention is embedded across the system and to deliver improvements in health and wellbeing.Providing briefings on the health and wellbeing needs of local communities to Councillors, Council Officers, ICBs, the 3rd sector, the public and partners.
